Senior Front End Software Engineer

Developer Efficiency at Credit Karma enables our product engineering teams to build, deploy and manage their services at scale to serve our 100 million+ members. Our teams focus on the complete development life cycle which includes the CI/CD pipeline. We build internal products that engineers use to manage their code, pipelines and service management. Besides the management pieces we build products that focus on providing developer analytics and process gates via a policy engine.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager of Developer Efficiency. Your role would be to work with stakeholders to understand user requirements and build UI components that are easy to use. We use React, GraphQL and TypeScript. You will be building new features and drive the technical direction in collaboration with the team.
What you’ll do:
- Implement features using React and Apollo/GraphQL
- Own projects and the complete software development lifecycle
- Work closely with team members to build scalable features and systems
- Leverage your deep understanding of user experience when building UI
- Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability
- Build reusable UI components that will be used across our products
- Influence the features and direction of the product with your own ideas

Minimum Basic Requirement:
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
- Proficient in React, Javascript, HTML5, and CSS (Bonus: experience with webpack, LESS, visualization libraries)
- Experience implementing APIs that are used by the client (e.g. REST, GraphQL)
- Good understanding of how web browsers work
- Passion for automation and a drive for continuous improvement
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with a modern web component frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Ember)
- Knowledge of user experience and design best practices
- Knowledge of developer efficiency measures
- Comfort with writing tests
