We are hiring a Senior Front End Engineer to build flexible, metadata driven user interfaces across our platforms and act as a mentor to the development team at FLEXE. User Interface and User Experience design are key drivers in helping FLEXE achieve the vision of creating easy to use, responsive and performance enhancing products and services for our customers. We care deeply about creating something that feels right in every detail - we are looking for someone with an acumen for design and a passion for creating a consistent front-end experience. Are you ready to help us develop our UI Architecture that, much like the platform counterpart, enables rapid iteration, high availability and a fast, delightful, intuitive and responsive experience? Note - this role reports to Lead, Product Design, and can be 100% remote.

What You'll Do...

• Be a technical leader to our teams, gaining ownership and mutual respect over existing and new areas of the product, and collaboratively design with the customer’s need at the center of decision making
• Imbue team members with a passion for delightful and responsive user experiences
• Convert our existing UI components into code, made easily accessible by our engineering teams
• Build a modular lazy-loaded REACT front-end framework and component library
• Create a maintainable front-end that enables faster growth
• Write a client-side service that communicates with our backend micro services
• Drive quality and testing methodologies to ensure the robustness of solutions
• Collaborate with Product, Engingeering and UX teams to explore new feature ideas, workflows and disambiguate requirements to create the appropriate interfaces
• Participate in sprint planning, code reviews, and retrospectives

What We're Looking For...

• 7+ years of professional experience in software development
• An engineer who enjoys talking about user experience as much as functional programming
• Expertise using HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript ES6+, with knowledge and approaches for modular CSS, and preprocessors such as SCSS and LESS
• Belief in building robust, rigorously-tested systems and components, and driving the quality bar of our user interfaces
• Extensive experience with web technologies and frameworks such as React, TypeScript, JavaScript, Webpack, babel, GraphQL and functional programming concepts such as ramda, reselect, React Hooks
• A pragmatic idealist who strives for efficient and practical solutions, not just theoretically ideal ones
• Passion for building tools and UI components that speed up iteration and make your coworkers lives easier
• Have built, managed and/or contributed to design systems and component libraries that are deployable across a wide range of devices
• Best practices knowledge when it comes to monitoring, profiling and optimizing web application performance
• Experience with Git/version control workflows[Preferred]
• Experience as a technical team leader and experience guiding the technical work across multiple development teams
