The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Front End Engineer with passion for technology to join our Web Engineering team. We are building connected digital experiences across Unity.com and other customer-facing web applications. You will collaborate closely with front-end, back-end engineers, product owners and project managers to take our web properties and applications to the next level.

The Web Engineering team is responsible for maintaining and developing innovative features on Unity’s customer-facing websites. You will be working with the team towards creating best in class marketing, commerce, user admin/portal and community websites that bring our user experience closer to our real-time 3D based software.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for building new web applications related to commerce, subscription and billing management. You will work closely with other internal teams and designers to leverage available tools and api’s and develop best-in-class digital experiences. Stability, quality, and robustness of code are key requirements, as well as a sense for good design and user experiences.

About You

You are well versed in modern web development methods and understand the different requirements that are brought upon by responsive and consistent design, continuous deployment, and communicating with complex backend systems.

You have proven experience building tools and websites across teams and organizations. Engagement with other engineers throughout Unity’s many product teams will be critical.

You understand the importance of a healthy company-wide engineering culture which invites participation, promotes mentorship, and works alongside product managers and designers to ensure Unity is building the best products possible for customers.

What you’ll be doing

• Design, implement, test, and maintain high performance, ambitious user interfaces and cutting edge frameworks and tools
• Work very closely with UX designers, product managers and a team of senior engineers building the next big thing
• Partner with engineers across the company to ensure the platform allows teams to create new products quickly and consistently
• Promote and empower internal open-source philosophy around shared web technology
• Offer mentorship, code reviews, and clear documentation for fellow engineers

What we’re looking for

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript and React, Redux and Unit testing.
• Experience with SCSS and styled-components
• Passionate creating mobile-first and cross-browser friendly websites
• Passionate for performance, optimization, accessibility, and SEO
• Experience working with Storybook
