In this Senior ETL/Database Engineer role, you will develop, integrate, test, and maintain existing and new applications. You will be responsible for all primary development activity across all technology functions that ensure we deliver code with high quality for our applications, products, and services. You will evaluate new tools, new techniques, and strategies and contribute to the build of common utilities to drive organizational efficiency. If you are located witihin Horsham, PA you will have the flexibility to telecommute* as you take on some tough challenges. This role will be hybrid based in the Horsham PA office. The selected candidate will be remote 3 days and in the Horsham office 2 days a week.

  • You will be responsible for the development & maintenance of ETL processes using Informatica PowerCenter, SQL queries and UNIX Shell Scripts which serve to integrate our Master Data Management (MDM) applications with consuming applications
  • Analyze, develop, and implement application code that satisfies application solution design requirements
  • Utilize relevant application coding techniques and standards as defined by UnitedHealthcare
  • Collaborate with other technical resources (e.g., Application Architects, Business Analysts) on the delivery of application functionality
  • Participate in sprint planning, design, coding, unit testing, sprint reviews
  • Provide basic design documents and translates into component-level designs to accelerate development. Design, develop, and distribute reusable technical components.
  • Assist in developing technical documentation; participates in test-plan development, integration, and deployment
  • Define and develop project requirements, functional specifications, and detailed designs of application solutions
  • Execute test plans, debug, and apply subsequent fixes
  • Assist in the design and development of proof of concept and prototype application environments

Required Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree or higher or equal experience
  • 5+ years of experience with Informatica PowerCenter or similar ETL tools
  • 5+ years of experience with Database, DB2 or Oracle
  • 3+ years of experience with complex SQL and Performance Tuning
  • 1+ years of experience with UNIX Shell Scripting


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Agile
  • Experience using a variety of code management, testing and deployment tools, including GitHub, Red Hat OpenShift, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, SonarQube, Cucumber, Selenium, Fortify, Splunk or similar tools
  • Experience with Java, J2EE, Spring, Hibernate, Web Services, Microservices
  • Experience working in Master Data Management (MDM) applications
  • Experience creating and presenting presentations and demos of software deliverables
  • Healthcare industry experience
  • Codes automated test scripts for use cases
  • Seeks to understand how the customer will interact with the system and how best to design solutions from their perspective
  • Builds and maintains relationships while consistently exemplifying a high-performance mentality
  • Works productively and effectively to get great things done
