We are looking for a Senior ETL Developer who will be responsible for developing and maintaining databases and the ETL procedures used to populate them for the Global Strategic Pricing (GSP) business unit at Thermo Fisher Scientific. The position is on a Technology Team embedded in the GSP business unit that draws on IT for database and server support, among other things.

Responsibilities:

• Maintain existing and build new ETL processes (stored procedures and SSIS) to bring Business Unit data into the GSP environment for use by GSP Pricing Analysts and GSP Tools
• Provide thought leadership for Business Intelligence within GSP, augmenting current capabilities or introducing new capabilities, including evaluating tools and platforms, selecting optimal directions, and incorporating the new technologies into the Pricing Analysts' skills
• Document existing processes for supportability and maintainability
• Understand the business requirements of Global Strategic Pricing in order to contribute to discussions with Business Units when initiating ETL discussions
• Work closely with Pricing Analysts to constantly improve our internal systems to expedite job completion.
• Provide support for SSAS cubes built by Pricing Analysts. Ability to build new cubes that increase the analytical capabilities of GSP is an advantage.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Occasional travel as required (less than 10%)

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• 4-8 years of experience with SSIS, SSRS, SSAS, and Power BI with understanding of inter-platform data transfers such as Oracle to SQL ETL process and vice versa, and with the following tools: MS SQL Server Management Studio and MS Visual Studio. Third party connector tool experience is a plus
• 4-8 years of experience developing highly tuned T-SQL Stored Procedures and functions
• 4-8 years of experience in database design including referential integrity, with solid understanding of key data elements, table indexing and database tuning
• Experience in other programming languages and statistical tools a plus.
• Ability to solve problems, strong analytical skills and the ability to trace issues to the root cause
• Highly motivated and self-directed; independent worker, self-starter, ability to work without direct supervision. Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to develop and complete detailed design documents and work plans from high-level requirements and specifications

Non-Negotiable Hiring Criteria:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience
• Experience with MS SQL Server development and SSIS
• Experience in database design including referential integrity, with solid understanding of key data elements, table indexing and database tuning
• Experience developing highly tuned T-SQL Stored Procedures and functions
