Senior Technical Triage Engineer, MS (Meraki Switch)
About the Role
As a Technical Triage Engineer, you will be fully embedded in our MS (switching) appliance team and be responsible for deep-diving into critical customer issues. You will collaborate with support to analyze recreations and expose insights to sophisticated networking issues. You will work directly with the engineering and product groups to root cause problems, propose solutions, and help define the roadmap for fixes. In the end, you will be a key member in delivering a quality experience for our customers and team!
As a critical member of the team, you will:
- Perform in-depth analysis of hardware and software errors and architectural issues. Perform simple code scrubs and fixes where possible.
- Advise and assist developers with bug validations, labs & repro setups, product behavior, and networking concepts
- Supervise critical and systemic customer-found issues with the MS product, analyze trends and investigate potential solutions
- Partner with testing and product management to validate and supervise compatibility of Meraki features with other vendor solutions
- Participate in product design, testing and early field trials
- Represent engineering and product in customer calls requiring business engagement
You are an ideal candidate if you:
- A degree in CS, EE, or a related technical field or equivalent proven experience
- 5+ years of work experience with switching network technologies
- CWNA/CCNP/CCIE routing/switching/security or above certification
- Experience in technical support, product testing, or QA preferred
- A passion for computer networking, cloud, and emerging innovative technologies
- Strong user emotional intelligence with a deep desire to understand top customer problems
- An ambitious, can-do attitude with a strong sense of product quality
- A love for solving technical problems in creative ways
Bonus Points for:
- Knowledge of C/C++
- Have experience with relational databases and query languages (SQL)
- Experience with Jira and Git
