What You’ll Be Doing:
- You will bring your hands-on technical approach to management and work in close collaboration with our Platform Engineering, Data Science, and Product Engineering teams to build, expand, improve platform and infrastructure.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of projects from conception and design to development, integration and production monitoring.
- Build, manage and grow teams, foster Agile practices and continuous improvement, enable engineers to build, test, deliver and operate high-quality solutions across the company
- Enable a wide set of internal and external builders to build on a solid platform with great experience.
- Recruit and manage a diverse set of people and facilitate their career growth and success of the team and its members
What You’ll Bring:
- You have experience building, leading and maturing one or more team(s) of 4-10 as a Manager with people responsibilities for at least 3 years.
- You are first and foremost a people person who has the ability to attract and motivate top talent and build inclusive teams. You are curious, collaborative, humble and have empathy as a key trait.
- You have experience delivering and operating complex software & data solutions - understanding the end-to-end needs of what is involved within this process; and you are able to distill complex and ambiguous situations into actionable plans for your team
- You are comfortable working with large distributed cloud-based systems, know principles of scalability well; and are familiar with technologies like: AWS EC2, S3, Dynamo, ElasticSearch, Kinesis, RDS, Kubernetes.
- You like to use your technical experience to educate your peers in Scalable Architecture, Operational Excellence and Resiliency best practices and platform thinking.
- Exposure or familiarity of data privacy & regulations eg. GDPR, CCPA (CA) or PII is a plus.
- You’re a former software engineer and have 5+ years of practical experience in building high scale, production distributed systems in a cloud environment.
- Experience managing global teams.
