We are looking for an innovative and talented engineering manager to join our Jira Product Discovery team. This product team is looking for an experienced leader to help us build for the future. You'll contribute to the product direction and be responsible for building a long-lasting engineering team that works with early customers and moves fast to address the challenges faced by the customers.
You will drive product development in close collaboration with the product and design partners and will be accountable for technical strategy as well as alignment with other product and platform teams. In this role you will also be expected to be hands-on, working in a small startup of 10-15 people with the expectation to grow to two or three times its current size. The team needs a leader who is a multiplier with excellent execution skills. In this role you will be responsible for scaling the team, technology, processes, and product from launch. This is a new team and the leader will be responsible for creating a highly motivated team bound by a strong culture.
Jira Product Discovery is a product for product managers so they can build what matters with a place to capture insights and opportunities, prioritize impact, and rally teams behind product plans – from discovery through delivery.
This is a remote role that can be based anywhere in Germany.
On your first day, we'll expect you to have:
- Significant experience with frontend and backend technologies (JavaScript/ES6, Java, Kotlin, etc) and building large-scale web software.
- 12+ years of product design/development experience
- 4+ years of experience leading a high-performing development team and managing managers.
- Experience with agile software development methodologies
- Employee performance & growth management
- Ability to drive technical and operational excellence, pushing innovation with security, reliability and quality
- Strong organizational and communication skills
- Working well within a multi-functional team, with a willingness to mentor developers via tech design reviews, code reviews, etc, and can also collaborate effectively on ideas and designs with some of the best architects and developers in Atlassian
It would be great, but not required if you have:
- A passion for building highly available and large scale distributed systems
- Experience with microservices
- Continuous delivery and deployment
- Experience with AWS
