As the Senior Engineer, Systems (Windows), you will ensure that the workstation environment is properly administered across the company. This includes patching, corporate image standards, software package creation and deployment, as well as managing end points via SCCM and group policy. You will also conduct troubleshooting investigations, perform configuration changes and recommend and implement new technologies. What you'll do on a typical day:

  • Maintain central client management system and ensure operability of all GXO end points
  • Assist with infrastructure related projects
  • Own and maintain hardware and software standards, including image, applications and supported workstations
  • Provide end-point metrics and reporting for the company
  • Provide Tier 3 advanced support for high level and complex end-point issues
  • Own the overall GXO business service for ISO compliance
  • Manage Active Directory and group policy for workstations
  • Manage workstation centric changes and represent end user computing in the change advisory board

What you need to succeed at GXO:

At a minimum, you'll need:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work or military experience
  • 2 years of related work experience
  • Scripting experience
  • Some experience with storage systems related to server installation and support
  • Solid skills in Windows performance tuning and troubleshooting
  • Expert knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy management, Domain Name System (DNS), Windows Internet Name Service (WINS) and Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP)
  • Expert knowledge of hardware maintenance and installation

It'd be great if you also have:

  • 10 years of related work experience
  • Availability for periodic 24/7 on-call support as required by team's rotation schedule
  • Microsoft certification or course work (MCSE/MCITP)
  • 5 years of Windows system administration experience (2008 and 2012)
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange and mail routing/filtering, VMWare administration and Symantec NetBackup
  • Ability to lead, teach and influence the work of others as an experienced team member
