Job Description
Senior Engineer 2- DEXTR Team\n\nDEXTR Team - Our mission is to enable transfers between any two locations within the JWN network. Our team ensures that product is placed where it can sell efficiently. Nordstrom has previously had multiple applications serving the same purpose, in the near future we would like to sunset those applications and make DEXTR the one and only. We have a React Frontend and a Kafka based backend and we are on the AWS Cloud. Any improvement that we do on DEXTR has a direct impact on Nordstrom's biggest asset (Inventory) so this is a very high visibility team.\n\nA Senior Engineer 2 is part of a key team of Nordstrom Technology professionals that applies scientific, mathematical and social principles to design, build, and maintain technology products, devices, systems and solutions. These technology products and solutions provide amazing customer experiences while meeting the needs of the business. The scope, responsibility and accountability is at the solution level.\n\nAs a Senior Engineer 2 you will be collaborating with engineers to build and support inventory deployment tools to support the inventory to be available on time, at the right place for the customers. With the changing retail space, you will be working on enabling new features and delivering new tools. You will be building new features in a cloud-based architecture using oops/DB concepts in an agile, collaborative environment. You will be directly working with business partners to innovate and design for changing retail environment. You will need a strong passion to innovate and collaborate across teams to deliver a multi-channel solution for our business partners.\n\n\n\n\nA day in the life...\n\nResponsible for feature design; evaluate designs and provide feedback\nInfluence quality standards and understand, identify, measure across entire solution\nIdentify performance issues and optimize solutions\nDemonstrate strong knowledge of security coding practices and secure system fundamentals\nUnderstand security protocols, interpret security and compliance requirements\n\n\nYou own this if you have...\n\nBachelor's or Master's degree in CS, Engineering\n6+ years professional experience in practice area\nProficient in analyzing, designing and developing reliable and scalable solutions.\nProficient in more than 1 Object Oriented language such as Java, C#, C++ etc.\nProven track record in Java and Java Spring boot framework.\nExperience with SQL database will be a plus.\nExperience with RESTful architecture and micro-services.\nExperience with cloud-based services (AWS/GCP)\nExperience with containerization (K8/Docker) \nExperience with Real time streaming (Kafka/SQS).\nGood communication skills (verbal and written).\nShould be able to articulate and architecture a well-designed system.\nProvide guidance and oversight for implementation and delivery of a feature.\nCollaborate with other engineers and leads on feature design and delivery to business users.\nProvide mentoring to other developers and engineers on best engineering practices\nChampions and identifies design improvements; makes recommendations to close gaps and build alignment.\n\n\n*** This position requires you to be in a hub location. If you are already located in one of our hubs (Atlanta, Chicago, Denver, or Los Angeles), you can work from that location. However, if you are located elsewhere, you must be open to relocating to Seattle or one of our hubs once employees return to the office.\n**\n\n#LIAM1\n\nThis range may vary for candidates hired to work in locations other than Colorado.\n\nMinimum = $124,600/annually\n\nMaximum = $186,900/annually
