We are searching for a Senior Embedded Engineer/Senior Firmware Engineer to join our team in Fort Worth TX! Reporting to the Electrical Engineering Manager, this position will design and implement software applications for an embedded system. Applications will include motor controls, vehicle control, user interface, data collection, data exchange, IoT interface and other. Person will work closely with the power electronics team developing the motor controller, the system test team, the IoT cloud team, and the Applications team. Practical, hands-on experience is necessary to get involved from cradle to grave on projects. Prospective employee should expect time in the lab and office to support development and test of the system
Essential Qualifications
- Bachelors of Science in CS/CSE/EE
- 5+ years of experience in embedded C/C++ development
- Debugging skills
- Hardware test equipment: oscilloscope, logic analyzer
- Experience in communication protocols. I2C, Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI), USB, UART. General-purpose input/output (GPIOs), Controller Area Network (CAN bus), Recommended Standard 232 (RS232), one-wire, Recommended Standard 485 (RS485)
- Ability to read a schematic
- Strong knowledge in Motor Control Techniques
- Unit testing and integration experience valued
- Understanding of data structures
- Python programming language
- Exposure to software versioning tools like SVN / GIT.
- Experience with customer facing programs and application integration preferred
- Possess a desire and mindset to work in a startup organization: wear multiple hats, able to change direction and move quickly, proactive not reactive, and understand some workdays might be longer than other workdays

Desired Qualifications
- Master of Science in CS/CSE/EE
- Knowledge of dsPIC processors and development environment
- Motor controls and calibration experience strongly valued
- Power supply experience a plus
- Wi-Fi configuration a plus
- Basic understanding of Internet of Things (IoT) and internet-based technologies
- Network programming a plus
- Familiarity with JIRA and Confluence a plus
