Department OverviewThe DRNdata engineering team is where innovation happens. This group of developers uses our Billions of ALPR Data Points to produce some of the best location intelligence products in the world. Serving the Financial, Insurance and Commercial Markets.
Job Description

Reporting to the Senior Executive Director, the Senior Director, Engineering will be responsible to drive DRN’s infrastructure, building a modern network that maximizes our capabilities and improve our performance reflecting a strategic priority for DRN and a key pillar for its technology strategy.

  • Drive the vision, design, strategy, and implementation of an enterprise network infrastructure and supporting security technologies

  • Lead a team of 20+ software engineers, software architects, IT staff and DBAs; responsible for recruiting, training, coaching and evaluating performance

  • Provide high-level architecture and design decisions for our next generation software platforms

  • Provide technical oversight to the DRN business and software teams

  • Mentor and grow members of the team

  • Interface with product and management teams to define roadmaps, deliverables and future vision of the product and services

  • Develop a cloud-first strategy focused on information security, availability and scalability

  • Perform SOC2 and ISO 27001 information security audits

  • Work with internal hardware teams to ensure their deliverables meet our goals

  • Facilitate agile ways of working across projects and functions while delivering value to our business

  • Collaborate across all levels of the organization to ensure our architecture and engineering efforts reflect customer needs, can be successfully executed, and align with corporate strategy and focus areas.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Strong organizational leadership skills.

  • Extensive experience in working with stakeholders to create hiring strategies to develop quality teams.

  • Experience in recruiting engineers and contributors.

  • Previous working experience in software design and developing customer-oriented platforms.

  • Strong knowledge of data structures and algorithms.

  • Must be knowledgeable about industry trends, best practices, and change management.

  • Professionalism and commitment to consistently high-quality, thorough work. Ability to efficiently work autonomously and as part of a multidisciplinary team, as well as with a range of external stakeholders. Results-oriented project leadership skills.

  • Experience in prioritizing work plan objectives and maintaining focus on the most important enterprise-wide goals.

  • Demonstrated ability to handle matters of a sensitive and confidential nature and the capacity to maintain composure while working under pressure.

  • Self-motivated work ethic; demonstrating sound judgment, initiative, and an ability to manage multiple priorities with a sense of urgency and accountability to the team.

  • Excellent collaboration skills.

  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.

  • Experience with SOC & ISO audit processes and procedures

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related discipline or equivalent experience

  • Minimum 10 years experience in Engineering
