About the team
The D1 Engineering team's focus is to create and maintain high quality channel and middleware applications. Our mission is to accelerate ideation and experimentation leading to world class products and optimized processes. The team works closely in conjunction with product and operation teams to accelerate modernization journey and building innovative solutions.
What you will be doing
The Sr. Director, Application Architecture in D1 Engineering team, guides the development team to deliver robust solutions and help build prototypes, proof of concept, pilots as well as scaled solution to production.

  • Manages the application architecture team with primary focus on application performance and security.
  • Ensures proper application of technology to product development.
  • Maintain and enhance core frameworks.
  • Participate in product and vendor evaluations and primary contact for providing any technical documentation/inputs for RFP.
  • Create and maintain strong internal and external partnerships to drive the innovation agenda.
  • Identify and recommend opportunities for improving Architecture, internal tooling, sandbox, SDLC and other capabilities.
  • Lead the application security and guide the team for security scans. Maintain currency of 3rd party libraries.
  • Help with trouble shooting production issues that are security or performance related.
  • Identifies and allocates application architects to oversee product and implementations.
  • Coordinates with industry compliance consultants and product managers to verify applications meet regulatory compliance.


What you bring:

  • Curiosity and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to navigate through ambiguity and complexities.
  • 10+ years of experience with minimum of 5 years of hands-on software development and a minimum of 5 years leading application architecture teams.
  • Significant knowledge of software engineering, software architecture, data architecture, systems architecture, and data management required. Additional knowledge of network architecture preferred.
  • Experience with agile and scrum methodologies, DevOps environments with high degree of automation of CI/CD pipelines, build promotions and code quality testing.
  • Expert knowledge of Microservices Architecture and design, REST APIs, Security, Testing, and deployments in high throughput environments
  • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript frameworks such as Angular 6+, TypeScript, NodeJS, NestJS, and Material design
  • Advanced knowledge of JBOSS EAP is required (Security/JASS etc)
  • Experience in at least two of the following: Azure Cloud, AWS Cloud, Google Cloud.
  • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to present to all levels of the organization.


Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline or the equivalent combination of education, training, or work experience. Post-graduate education preferred.


Added bonus if you have:

  • Experience in financial services and fast paced innovation team highly desirable.
  • Hand-on development experience with the following: Node.js, Java, Springboot, C#, or Python
  • Experience with Kubernetes and Dockers for deployments in development, QA, and Production
  • Experience with Cloud native databases such as PostgreSQL, CosmosDB etc.
