A Day in the Life
The Integrated circuits design team is seeking a Senior Digital Design Engineer. With a heavy focus on low power and miniaturization, creating innovative therapy solutions is reliant on advancing our ASICs and hardware. The ideal candidate is able to leverage his/her skills and experience to enhance and optimize ASIC to deliver superior performance and enable Medtronic's lifesaving therapies' advancement.
As a member of this IC Design Team, you will be involved in all phases of product development, including definition, design for testability, verification planning /Execution, system integration, characterization, and failure analyses under a heavily regulated quality and regulatory standard operating procedures. You will be an important part of an experienced product development team whose goal is to deliver the highest quality integrated circuits for use in live saving medical devices.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Designs, develops, modifies and evaluates electronic parts, components or integrated circuitry for electronic equipment, or other hardware systems and/or electrical engineering applications.
  • Determines design approaches and parameters.
  • Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results.
  • Selects components and equipment based on analysis of specifications and reliability.
  • May also review vendor capability to support product development.

 

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

 

 

  • Bachelors degree required
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 2 years relevant experience

Nice to Have

 

 

  • BSEE and 4+ years of experience in low power analog deign and mixed signal design.
  • Experience in definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development for a variety of products.
  • Evaluates all aspects of the process flow from high-level design to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use. Analyzes equipment to establish operation data, conducts experimental tests, and evaluates results.
  • Ability to work closely with systems, product, DFT, reliability and test engineering though all stages of development.
  • Lab and test equipment skills for the debug, characterization, and validation of designs.
  • Experience in optimizing flows, circuitry, testability and enhancing product performance.
  • MSEE in Electrical Engineering
  • Familiarity with UVM
