Skills and Qualifications

  • 5+ years experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role
  • 5+ years experience managing CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins or GitLab a plus)
  • Proficient building large scale CI/CD pipelines
  • Proficient at building infrastructure with AWS
  • Experience with building infrastructure as a code, preferably Terraform
  • Proficient at git and git workflows
  • Experience developing engineering applications for a large corporation
  • Working knowledge of monitoring databases, preferably Cassandra
  • Experience being a part of Agile/Scrum environment is a plus
  • Team player, problem solver, good communicator with a desire to deliver meaningful features, get along with others, and have fun
  • BS / MS in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field is a plus


Objectives of this Role

  • Building and setting up new development tools and infrastructure
  • Working on ways to automate and improve development and release processes
  • Ensuring that systems are safe and secure against cybersecurity threats
  • Identifying technical problems and developing software updates and 'fixes'
  • Working with software developers and software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and works as intended
  • Understanding the needs of stakeholders and conveying this to developers
  • Planning out projects and being involved in project management decisions


Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain CI/CD pipelines
  • Build tools to reduce errors and improve customer experience
  • Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
  • Perform root cause analysis for production errors
  • Investigate and resolve technical issues
  • Develop scripts to automate visualization
  • Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance


As required by the Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, Pearson provides a reasonable range of minimum compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $70,000 - $95000.This position is eligible to participate in an annual incentive program.
