As a member of the Developer Experience team, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining platform tools and frameworks to be used by engineering and quality teams throughout the organization. You will play a key role in determining how to enable engineers to deliver software in a safe, fast, and self-service fashion. An ideal candidate will have a passion for developing well-documented, self-service tools to empower engineering teams, as well as a willingness to dive in and work alongside teams to understand pain points in the software delivery lifecycle and aide in implementing best practices.

What you'll be doing:

  • Develop and manage self-service tools and frameworks for engineering teams.
  • Train teams and engineers on how to integrate platform capabilities into their workflows.
  • Create and maintain documentation for teams to reference.
  • Analyze the root causes of performance issues for platform tools and provide corrective actions.
  • Suggest new tools and techniques to further enable development teams and self-service.
  • Meet with teams and engineers to understand pain points and improvement areas in the platform.

We're looking for someone who has:

  • Strong knowledge of automation and best practices and methodologies.
  • A strong platform mindset of developing and documenting patterns to empower engineering teams.
  • Experience with Kubernetes and ecosystem tools (e.g. Helm, Docker, Argo Rollouts, Ingress Nginx).
  • Experience with CI/CD methodologies and tools (e.g. GitLab CI, Blue/Green and Canary deployments, Postman).
  • Automated script design, coding, debugging and maintenance skills (Python, Bash, Go).

Highly preferred candidates will also have:

  • Software development experience working with APIs in Java or Go.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or comparable container-orchestration frameworks.
  • Deep knowledge of Linux systems and container runtimes.
  • Insurance and/or Financial Industry experience.
