The position of Sr. DevOps Engineer at Cox Enterprises is a hands-on engineering position. As a member of our Delivery Enablement function, you will work closely with DevOps Architects and Infrastructure Engineers to ensure that our DevOps pipelines are continually functioning to performance levels as and evolving to best support the needs of our Delivery team customers. Your primary area of focus will be to implement, integrate, and support a diverse set of DevOps tools residing on our DevOps platform. The successful candidate will have a blend of hands-on and thought leadership capabilities, with a passion for serving our Delivery Teams as customers.
Specific Job Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with architecture, software development, security, and operations teams to design, implement, and maintain scalable and secure DevOps solutions.
  • Develop, implement, and socialize DevOps best practices.
  • Develop and automate deployment, configuration, and monitoring processes to streamline software delivery and enhance system performance.
  • Manage and optimize the CI/CD pipeline, ensuring seamless integration and continuous delivery of software updates.
  • Maintain DevOps tools to maintain vendor and security compliance.
  • Support DevOps tools performance to meet agreed upon SLAs.
  • Implement and maintain robust security measures to protect data, systems, and applications.
  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in DevOps, and proactively apply them to improve our development and deployment processes.
  • Proactively address issues and pursue improvements.
  • Document processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and support team members.


Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree required + 4 or more years of relevant work experience required in related field
  • OR MS degree + 2 years experience
  • OR Ph.D. + up to 1 years of experience
  • OR 8 + years of experience with no degree
  • Minimum 5 Years in a DevOps Engineer function.
  • Passion for customer service and team success.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD concepts and hands on experience with relevant tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, Flexdeploy etc.).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Oracle Cloud, including infrastructure provisioning, monitoring, and security.
  • Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or ARM templates.
  • Experience integrating tools across the DevOps pipeline.
  • Experience supporting SAFe Agile teams.
  • Strong scripting and automation skills (e.g., Bash, Python, PowerShell) to streamline deployment and maintenance processes.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
