Senior DevOps Engineer ( Kubernetes, Linux & AWS)

Full time - Remote

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer who will be responsible for improving and maintaining Change Healthcare software development, test and live infrastructure and services. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, articulate, have experience with Linux and other *NIX derivatives, and is comfortable working in a fast-paced software development environment. Your primary mission as a DevOps engineer is working closely with the Development, Technical Operations, Quality Assurance, and Product Management teams, to ensure the uptime and the high performance of Change Healthcare platforms.

Responsibilities:

  • Support Change Healthcare's mission critical "Clinical Trials Access Network" product in multiple production and development environments
  • Identify and drive improvements in infrastructure and system reliability, performance, monitoring, and overall stability of the platform
  • Capacity planning and demand forecasting to meet systems demand, identifying performance bottlenecks and devising tuning improvements
  • Build tools and automation that eliminate repetitive tasks and prevent incident occurrence
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of processes, systems, environments and runbook procedures
  • Optimize architecture and processes to minimize cost
  • Collaborate and communicate with a multi-disciplinary team including partners, project and product owners, developers, and management to ensure success of the "Clinical Trials Access Network"
  • Be a flexible team player leveraging agile processes


Qualifications:

  • B.S. in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of DevOps / SRE production applications and systems support
  • Experience supporting, analyzing and troubleshooting large-scale distributed mission critical systems
  • Systematic problem-solving approach and strong sense of ownership to drive problems to resolution
  • Experience configuring and managing web servers (Apache, Tomcat, Nginx) and RESTful Web service applications
  • Strong knowledge of Linux systems administration and architecture
  • Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Proven experience with configuring, automating, managing/supporting AWS environments
    • Proficiency working with Amazon Web Services like EC2, EBS, ELB/ALB, ECS, EKS, ECR, KMS, S3, IAM, Route 53, RDS in a highly available and scalable production environment
  • CI/CD
    • Experience with continuous integration and deployment automation tools such as gitrunner, Jenkins, AWS CloudFormation, Terraform
    • Confidence and experience with source control tools such as GIT/GitHub/GitLab and branching strategies that facilitate CI/CD
  • Kubernetes
    • Proven deep Kubernetes ecosystem/tools expertise
    • Experience automating Kubernetes upgrades that ensures cluster uptime
    • Container management and automation
  • Development experience
    • Experience integrating with various monitoring tools and designing appropriate alerts
    • Designing and developing to avoid or predict downtime
    • Experience designing and developing system integrations and automation tools


Nice to have:

  • Experience automating certificate renewals for kubernetes applications
  • Experience with a multi-AZ AWS architecture
  • Experience with LDAP, SAML, OAuth, Kerberos protocols / standards
  • Network knowledge (TCP/IP, UDP, DNS, Load balancing) and prior network administration experience is a plus
  • Experience with javascript, Python or Java. Full stack development experience would be a big plus
  • Experience with healthcare data, EMR systems, Clinical data would be a plus
