The IT & DevOps team forms the technological backbone of Mythic’s development efforts and is responsible for building, maintaining, and securing Mythic’s corporate IT and infrastructure for engineering teams.

About the role:

Mythic IT and DevOps is a team of six, looking to add our seventh. As a relatively small company, we are responsible for nearly every aspect of IT - network, compute, storage, and applications. 

You will be in a high-visibility role that involves understanding internal customer requirements, creating project plans and forecasting capacity requirements. You will have a mix of project and operations work, with most of your time dedicated to infrastructure projects. As a member of the team, you will join us in taking ownership of the uptime, performance, and throughput of all the company-wide systems we manage.

Here is what you will do:

• Typical project work might include:
• Empowering R&D teams: contribute to internal tools for running ML workflows on our hybrid cloud GPU farm
• Managing configuration: improve and expand coverage of configuration management tools; implement best practices across the environment, write Ansible playbooks and Docker files
• Maintain and scale infrastructure: improve and expand coverage of monitoring tools, automate deployment of systems and other repeatable tasks.
• Document extensively: create high-quality documentation for tools and processes you own or deploy




• Operational work will include:
• Troubleshoot failures and performance issues on standardized GPU infrastructure & tools
• Work closely with end-users, helping them access the infrastructure they need to do their best work
• Improving dashboards, monitoring, and logging for better insights
• Collaboration with IT to resolve complex issues

Here is the background we hope you will have:

• 3+ years experience as Linux systems administrator or power user
• 3+ years writing Python for production tools 
• Automation experience with Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• Docker and container orchestration experience (Docker, Kubernetes, Nomad, Mesos)

The following would be nice to have, but not required:

• Any experience supporting machine learning operations, with knowledge of PyTorch, CUDA, GPU server maintenance, and CI/CD in an ML environment
• Experience working at startups 
• Previous experience in model development or AI engineering
• Past experience as project lead for high-visibility projects
• AWS or Google Cloud experience
• HashiCorp product experience (Vault, Terraform, Packer, Consul, Nomad)
• Version control system administration experience (Perforce, GIT)
