Job summary
The Red Hat Business Unit is looking for a Senior Container Infrastructure Consultant to join us. In this role, you will work with customers to enhance existing software platforms and leverage Red Hat technology to solve customer objectives.
Primary job responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers to understand customer software needs and create customer software solutions using Red Hat technology, and implement best practices leveraging Red Hat technology
  • Work with customers to solve software integration challenges that arise with Red Hat technology and the customer environment, and define key performance indicators leveraging Red Hat technology
  • Remain current on Red Hat software products and offerings to solve customer software objectives with Red Hat technology
  • Test software solutions through Red Hat technology to ensure compatibility with the customer software environment
  • Coordinate across customer stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes and designs of Red Hat technology
  • Implement next generation cloud infrastructure and delivery workflows on large-scale container platform clusters using Java, Node.js, Docker, Kubernetes, Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL), and Red Hat OpenShift
  • Implement automated and containerized cloud application platform solutions, focusing on infrastructure concerns including networking, storage, virtualization, security, logging, monitoring, high availability, and system resilience
  • Apply software technologies, frameworks, or methodologies to container platforms
  • Implement complex, large-scale container platform solutions in challenging customer environments


Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, or related field and 4+ years of experience in the job offered or related role OR Master's degree (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in computer science, computer engineering, or related field and 2+ years of experience in the job offered or related role
  • 2+ years of experience with: RHEL or Linux administration; Python scripting; configuration management including Ansible or related; DNS, DHCP, load balancers, NTP, routers, switches, or proxies infrastructure and network engineering
  • 1+ year(s) of experience with: VMWare vSphere, KVM, or QEMU virtualization; and Kubernetes, Docker, or Openshift container technology
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time to various and unanticipated customer sites; travel expenses reimbursed by Red Hat, Inc.
