The Red Hat Open Innovation Labs is looking for a Senior Consultant to join us. In this role, you will join a team of subject matter experts who co-create innovative software solutions using emerging technologies and modern software design methods. You will be responsible for collaborating with customers and partners to accelerate their application development project, and to teach them new ways of working together to get things done. As you do so, you will create enthusiasm for building great software using principles of open source culture.

  • Work with Red Hat and the open source community to engineer Labs-based software solutions, designed to further accelerate our customers' success at Labs
  • Become a trusted advisor to our customers, helping them achieve business success in an ever-changing technology landscape
  • Use your critical thinking skills to tackle tough problems in an innovative way
  • Travel to customer locations, from 25% to 75% of the time

What you will bring

  • Significant development and delivery experience with multiple programming languages, including Java
  • Experience with the design, development, testing and deployment of large, distributed applications
  • Excellent object-oriented skills and applied knowledge of software design patterns
  • Applied knowledge of modern software delivery methods like test-driven development (TDD), behavior-driven development (BDD), continuous integration, and continuous delivery
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container tools
  • Experience mentoring and programming in pairs or mobs
  • Experience working with automation tools like Ansible, Puppet, or Chef
  • Solid verbal, writing, and presentation skills
  • Ability to learn on your own and quickly put into practice new topics
