About the job
The Red Hat Consulting team is looking for a Senior Consultant to join us. In this role, you'll be part of the North American (NA) Intelligent Application Practice which specializes in machine learning operations (MLOps), decision management, and business process management. You will learn how to set up machine learning pipelines and create intelligent applications using ML models, rules, and processes. We don't expect you to know everything on day one, experience with our tools and approaches is not required, but your ability to learn new technologies will be essential. As a Senior Consultant, you'll have the opportunity to learn all of Red Hat's most exciting technologies from serverless to addressing high performance hardware accelerators; from domain model analysis to cloud native integration. You'll specialize in business process modeling, decision models, optimization, and machine learning. This is a remote position and can be located anywhere in the United States within close proximity to a major airport. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Learn new technologies quickly
  • Write clean, maintainable code in a variety of frameworks and at all levels of the technology stack
  • Work with customers to develop collaborative solutions in ML engineering and business automation
  • Model complex problems to be solved with data analysis, algorithms, processes, and rules
  • Travel to customer locations and deliver professional services as needed, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines


Within 2 months be prepared to join a project team by acquiring the following:

  • Understanding of how Red Hat Intelligent Applications are positioned in the market
  • Working knowledge of our core practice technologies including Red Hat Openshift Container Platform, Red Hat Process Automation Manager, and Red Hat Decision Manager
  • Practical experience with our offerings sufficient to build simple business automation applications and CI and CD pipelines


Within 4 months be ready to participate in Red Hat Intelligent Application project by acquiring the following:

  • Successful cooperative delivery of customer requirements using Red Hat's business automation suite
  • Ability to create ML pipelines and configure data science platform tools on top of Red Hat Openshift Container Platform
  • Integration skills sufficient to connect model services with applications and data services


Within 12 months, contribute to the Intelligent Application Practice solutions by acquiring the following:

  • Successfully lead a customer project using Red Hat AI and ML or business automation tooling
  • Help other consultants and customers learn about our technologies
  • Contribute lessons learned, best practices, and how-tos to our internal and external communities of practice
  • Apply new technologies, frameworks, or methodologies to your customers' engagements


What you will bring

  • Good basis of application development skills
  • Experience working with Java, Apache Maven, and Git as a foundation
  • Expertise in some of the following fields: cloud native development on Kubernetes, continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) pipeline creation, business process management (BPM) development, business rules, decision management, data science and ML concepts, optimization technologies like Java OptaPlanner, business requirements analysis, and domain models creation
