ECS is seeking a Senior Cloud Systems Engineer to work in our Washington, DC office.

We are currently seeking a talented Senior Cloud Systems Engineer to join a strong cloud team supporting critical national security workload. This individual will be passionate about cloud, DevOps, automation, and software development. As we seek to deliver mission critical cloud services to the federal government, stability, automation, and scalability will be critical to our success. This individual will work with many teams to pursue industry best practices and seek to collaborate with many stakeholders. Work location is one day a week onsite in D.C. ( potential for more onsite days in the future) and remote the remaining days of the week.

The ideal candidate will
Seek to deliver work as code in a repeatable manner, have a desire to lead and have experience with modern DevOps technologies to provide high quality technical support and leadership for transformational efforts and teams.

Required Skills:

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • At least 10 years of experience in and deep knowledge of:
  • Linux
  • Cloud infrastructure and networking in Azure
  • Configuration management experience through Ansible/Terraform/Chef/Puppet
  • Git, CI/CD and other development tools
  • Strong scripting skills in at least one language (e.g. Python, PowerShell, Bash)
  • Master's degree or an AWS certification (AWS Pro preferred)
  • Experience leading project technical delivery efforts
  • Advanced cloud architecture skills in one of more clouds
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders


Desired Skills:

  • Proven success in supporting a broad array of cloud services
  • Experience delivering technical excellence in the federal space
  • Strong understanding of DevOps processes, methodologies and philosophies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with both AWS and Azure Cloud Environments
  • Experience with containerization and microservice architectures
  • Relevant professional level cloud or DevOps certifications
