About the job
The Red Hat Sales team is looking for a Senior Cloud Specialist Solutions Architect to join us. In this role, you will be the catalyst creating possibilities, solving problems, and establishing working relationships with customers. You'll help our customers invest wisely in cloud technologies that will give them maximum flexibility in the future, allowing them to run faster and more efficiently. You will use your business insight to present executive lT leadership with compelling business and technical cases for Red Hat's cloud solutions. As a Senior Cloud Specialist Solutions Architect, you will collaborate with the broader Sales team and technical delivery teams to bring our customers the best solutions using Red Hat's cloud suite of offerings including Red Hat Openshift Container Platform, Red Hat OpenStack Platform, and Red Hat Virtualization. You will help customers define, plan, and fulfill their journey to the cloud. Successful applicants must reside in a state where Red Hat is registered to do business.
What you will do

  • Become a trusted adviser within Red Hat's customer base; build solid long-lasting relationships with customers
  • Provide presales technical support for the development and implementation of complex solutions
  • Gain deep understanding of customer business and IT environments and collaborate with sales teams to assess the potential application of Red Hat's solutions
  • Present complex solutions to potential customers and design value-driven architectures, explaining the application and business value of Red Hat's solutions
  • Understand current technology and industry trends; connect trends to customer value and Red Hat solutions
  • Participate in and guide vertical and industry-specific subject matter expert teams; create whitepapers, reference architectures, and other industry-specific technical collateral
  • Share knowledge and findings so that team members can learn from your successes and mistakes


What you will bring

  • Experience working as a sales engineer, systems architect, or in a similar role
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences; ability to interpret customer business and technical needs
  • Excellent presentation skills; ability to present to business, technical, management, and leadership audiences of all sizes
  • Record of developing relationships at engineering, commercial, and executive levels throughout large enterprise IT organizations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Willingness to travel frequently, following Red Hat's COVID-19 guidelines
  • Experience with both technical and cultural implementation challenges for cloud-native and containerized environments
  • Experience with container orchestration platforms
  • Experience with cloud-native development paradigms and processes
  • Experience with cloud storage technologies
