Job summary
The Red Hat Southwest U.S. Technical Field Sales team is looking for a Senior Cloud Specialist Solutions Architect to join us. In this role, you will be responsible for increasing technical wins in named Global 2000 Enterprise accounts in southern California and Arizona. You'll serve a critical role in a larger sales team, helping to develop and then deliver sales strategies from a technical perspective. You'll help lead technical evaluations at our customers through an entire land and expand customer journey. You'll work directly with Red Hat customers understanding their business priorities and associated cloud and infrastructure needs. Through discovery conversations, presentations, demos, and proof of concepts (PoCs) you will qualify opportunities helping customers verify Red Hat solution fit and validate Red Hat solution value. Success requires a mix of technical expertise, enterprise sales, and adoption expertise, along with excellent people and communication skills. Primary job responsibilities

  • Provide technical credibility in the area of hybrid cloud platforms and tools for the Sales team
  • Assist in building technical sales and adoption plans for named account customers
  • Converse with customers to build rapport, as well as to uncover priorities, needs, and requirements and to qualify
  • Identify appropriate Red Hat technologies and offerings to solve customer problems
  • Deliver presentations and demos to diverse audiences (executive to individual, tech to business, one to many) covering basic overview, technical overview, and deep dive explorations
  • Lead PoCs, enlist and manage the efforts of Tiger Team PoC Engineers, help scope, design, and deliver proof-of-concept engagements; help define PoC success metrics and capture results
  • Ensure knowledge is transferred to the customer regarding the solution, its fit, and the value it delivers as proven in the PoC
  • Help identify and coordinate the efforts of experts from across Red Hat, including product business units, marketing, consulting, and alliances, when delivering through each sales cycle
  • Form relationships with customer technical associates to guide, build trust, and identify new opportunities
  • Help prioritize and manage the technical sales effort across a portfolio of deals that span several territories, accounts, and account executives and have different probabilities of closing
  • Travel and present in front of customers up to 60% of the time


Required skills

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of experience as a field presales engineer selling Kubernetes, cloud platforms, or other cloud based enterprise solutions to G2000 companies
  • Ability and initiative to research and learn new technologies, to assimilate new information and understand complex topics and then to pass this on to others
  • Ability to ask questions, share concepts, and present to technical technical buyers with credibility and depth
  • Ability to share concepts and present to non-technical buyers, simplifying the technical message and relating it back to value for the business
  • Ability and willingness to learn, deliver, and customize Kubernetes-based demos
  • Solid debugging, troubleshooting, and general problem-solving skills
  • Direct experience with Linux containers and container clustering technologies like Docker, Kubernetes, Rocket, and Open Container Project
  • Direct experience with application build automation processes and tools like continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD), Apache Maven, Jenkins, Tekton, and Git
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Solid written, verbal, and social communication skills for presenting to internal and external audiences
  • Willingness to travel up to 60%
