Mission for the Federal Workspace ONE team:

Ensure that Workspace ONE on Amazon Web Services (AWS) GovCloud operates
with high reliability, availability and performance at scale for our customers. The
Workspace One on AWS GovCloud Operations team is looking for a senior Cloud
Operations engineer with a diverse set of experiences and skill sets to help maintain VMware's WS1 Software as a Service (SaaS) running on AWS GovCloud
infrastructure. As a Workspace ONE Cloud DevOps engineer you will provide service,insight, response, and service management to maintain high service reliability and availability with low touch through extensible services and platforms, standardized processes, data insights, and product feedback.

Responsibilities

  • DevOps: Maintain Workspace ONE on AWS, GovCloud customers, and the VMware SaaS supporting infrastructure
  • Site Reliability Engineer: Work closely with development teams to improve maintainability and reliability of services
  • Handle seamless upgrades of infrastructure and services through automation
  • Identify, gather, analyze and automate responses to key performance metrics, logs, and alerts
  • Ensure compliance with appropriate security standards
  • Conduct post-postmortems to analyze failures and prevent recurrence
  • Provide service support by participating in regular on-call shifts responding to service issues



Minimum Qualifications

  • BS in Computer Science or related technical field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Systematic problem-solving approach coupled with a strong sense of ownership and independence
  • Experience administering Windows/Linux systems in a production environment
  • Experience providing on-call support for high priority incidents
  • Operational experience with networking and an understanding of networking principles


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience operating, troubleshooting, and scaling web and application services
  • Experience reviewing security scans, remediating vulnerabilities, and system hardening
  • Experience with automation systems: e.g. Ansible, Jenkins, PowerShell, Terraform
  • Experience with monitoring solutions: e.g. Splunk, Solarwinds, Nagios
  • Experience with Jira Service Desk and PagerDuty or similar tools
  • Experience with Change Management processes and functions
  • Experience with High Availability services
  • Exposure to VMware Workspace One, and AWS



This position will perform work that the U.S. government has specified can only be performed by a U.S. citizen on U.S. soil, and therefore any offer will be contingent upon verification of both of these requirements. The position is also contingent on passing an enhanced background check.
