The government client requires all employees to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 for any/all positions that will require travel.

Full vaccination (against COVID-19) is defined as: an individual must be either two weeks past the last shot of a two-shot vaccination sequence, or two weeks past the only shot of a one-shot vaccination sequence.

Description of Duties:

The Senior Cloud Engineer supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

• Specialize in the administration and operations of a Hybrid Cloud environment and performs cybersecurity compliance, operational sustainment, and other general IT tasks as needed to ensure continuous performance.
• Build, maintain, and configure Windows and Red Hat systems.
• Troubleshoot, Maintain, Operate and provide customer support for GitLab and software factory tools.
• Assist Cloud Services SME with customer tickets and request on pipeline accounts (infrastructure, software, configurations, etc.).
• Develop example code to assist customer with getting started on their own pipelines using our services.
• Train customer on use of DevSecOps applications.
• Design, implement, troubleshoot, operate and provide customer support for Cloud platform: Azure, AWS and OpenStack.
• Design, implement, troubleshoot, operate, and provide customer support for DevSecOps application stack which currently consists of at least 8 enterprise applications and will increase with time.
• Write code to automate implementation and configuration of IT assets (infrastructure, software, configurations, etc.).
• Attend multiple engineering and architecture meetings and serve as technical expert on multiple IT domains related to Cloud and DevSecOps projects.
• Download and install critical patches on systems in accordance with MDA rules and guidelines.
• Track resource utilization and performance of systems.
• Perform modifications and upgrades as needed.
• Coordinate efforts with other work centers and personnel to resolve Remedy Incidents related to systems and supporting infrastructure.
• Provide other Systems Engineering/Administration duties as needed/assigned.

This position will be filled at Redstone Arsenal, Huntsville, AL

This position is expected to pay $141,000 - $151,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 16 years of general experience; Associate's degree and 14 years of general experience; Bachelor's degree and 12 years of general experience; Master's degree and 10 years of general experience

• If this position requires travel selected candidate must be willing to provide proof of fully vaccinated (against COVID-19) status? (the process of which must be completed prior to the anticipated start date)
• Must have 9 years of directly related experience
• Must have 3 years of experience working in a management or leadership role
• Must have a current DoD 8570.01 IAT Level II Certification (e.g. CompTIA Security+ CE Certification)
• Must have an active DoD Secret Security Clearance

Desired Requirements:

• Have systems administration/engineering experience managing Azure, AWS and OpenStacks platforms and office products.
• Have experience in writing Ansible and automations scripts
• Have experience with GitLab
• Have experience with developer and coding tools
• Have experience with Remedy Incident and Change Management
• Have experience with Networking and Cybersecurity
• Have experience with DevSecOp processes
