In a nutshell
We are developing a new platform that will redefine how population health is managed, measured, and implemented. Through our partnership with a large health insurance company, we are building a proactive, people-focused care experience, empowering consumers to make better-informed decisions and helping care teams improve the health and well-being of entire populations.
As a Senior Cloud Developer on this project, you will support the maintenance and automation of a large Azure-based virtualization and cloud-based computing environment. The team will look to you for guidance based on your technical expertise and practical experience, and you'll serve as a technical liaison between internal groups. Together, you'll create new infrastructures and environments that will support the growth and adoption of cloud and automation goals across the enterprise.
Your specific duties will include:

  • Acting as a subject matter expert for end-to-end implementation of Azure cloud and virtualization as well as IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS solutions
  • Developing and maintaining a library of deployable, tested, and documented automation design scripts, processes, and procedures
  • Enabling DevOps development activities and complex development tasks that will involve working with tools such as Docker, Kubernetes, and container management systems
  • Providing advanced system administration (infrastructure as code), operational support, and problem resolution for a large cloud-computing environment in Azure, AWS, GCP, or Oracle Cloud
  • Designing, configuring, implementing, and supporting an automated workflow for cloud and virtual environment provisioning
  • Implementing production changes during defined maintenance windows and supporting on-call rotation
  • Performing cloud computing and virtual environment buildouts, software deployment, maintenance, and support
  • Writing and maintaining documentation of relevant operating procedures and processes
  • Designing, developing, and building the business-oriented cloud infrastructure architecture

You'll work side-by-side with architects, managers, and engineering consultants to gain a 360-degree perspective of the challenge at hand while contributing your unique perspective to develop innovative solutions.
About you

  • You're well-versed in best practices for the management, architecture, configuration, disaster recovery, administration, and automation of enterprise engineering assets with cloud technologies.
  • You're passionate about new technologies.
  • You keep current with trends in the cloud and infrastructure space while always searching for ways to improve systems as technology evolves.
  • You have a steady eye towards regulatory and compliance demands.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in a technical discipline (computer science, computer engineering, etc.), or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 3+ (with master's degree) or 5+ (with bachelor's degree) years of experience in software engineering, IT systems installation, operations, administration, and maintenance of virtualized servers/ cloud systems
  • Proficient knowledge of infrastructure design and components, such as servers, operating systems, networks, and storage
  • Strong hands-on experience and scripting/development skills in Java or Scala in a corporate environment
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure DevOps and Pipelines, Terraform, Azure Resource Manager, Kubernetes, GitHub, and configuration management tools such as Puppet, Chef, or Ansible
  • Familiarity with modern big-data process and API-based web service architecture
  • Experience architecting, implementing, and maintaining mission-critical environments for 24x7 availability
  • Experience working in an environment with a defined production change control process
  • Relevant experience configuring and implementing IaaS, infrastructure as code, Azure, etc.
  • Demonstrated history of working within deadlines and ability to work well under pressure
