Title: Senior Cloud Automation Engineer

Location: Atlanta, GA / Dallas

We are currently looking for a passionate and dynamic individual to join our organization as a Senior Cloud Automation Engineer.

As a Senior Cloud FinOps Engineer, you'll bring your DevOps knowledge and software engineering skillset into the complex, dynamic and exciting world of public cloud finance. This is a highly rewarding position, where you'll be able to see an immediate impact from your contributions.

This position will blend Systems Engineering with DevOps automation. Ideal candidates will support system development and administration as part of continuous deployment, continuous integration, and infrastructure automation projects. This includes analysis of current systems, identification of automation opportunities, creation, testing and deployment of automation scripts, daily monitoring, and administration, as well as being involved in projects tasks.

As Cloud Engineer, you will:

  • Design, build, implement and operationalize Cloud Automated tools in order to identify and optimize cost trends across our different Cloud Services.
  • Maintain and enhance our Cloud Cost Tracker Application developed in PowerBI and SQL.
  • Automate everything, from using tools like PowerBI to delivering machine-learning-based forecasts, right sizing (VM, Disks, Storage Tiers), self-service budgets and real-time Kubernetes spend visibility (and much more!).
  • Serve as the Subject Matter Expert for Cloud Analytics and financial management tools.
  • Construct, improve and maintain the automated deployment pipelines.
  • Review issues logs and metrics to identify trends and solutions that should be implemented.
  • Maintain in-depth documentation of activities and system configuration.
  • Use appropriate tooling associated with DevOps engineering and system configuration management.
  • Perform troubleshooting, resolution, and problem analysis.
  • Assists with IT functions such as design, analysis, evaluation, testing, debugging and implementation of applications programs in support of one or more functional areas.
  • Drive cost optimization efforts by collaborating Application Teams, Finance and DevOps Engineering teams across the enterprise, recommending right sizing (VMs, Disks, Storage, ASE, Storage, DBs) and purchasing reserved instances & savings plans across AWS, Azure and GCP.
  • Work closely with Business Unit (OU) partners to ensure appropriate cost management strategies (e.g., right sizing and alert strategies) are deployed and maintained at scale to manage costs.
  • Participate in architectural discussions to help Application Teams make the most cost-efficient choices.

  • Passionate about applying their Cloud knowledge and development skills to provide automated solutions to optimize and drive Cloud cost savings.
  • Passionate about developing and enabling a culture that puts cost management in the forefront of the Application Community.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Technical Discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in development and scripting of cloud based automated solutions.
  • Minimum 2 years of either Azure, AWS or GCP Cloud experience.
  • Knowledge of Public Cloud offerings and consumption models.
  • Hands-on experience in cloud computing (Infrastructure as a Service, Storage, Platforms as a Services).
  • Strong Experience in one or more automation/development languages (PowerShell, Command Line Interface & C Sharp, Python) and infrastructure delivery (CI/CD)
  • Proficient analytical skills and experience with cost optimization in Azure, AWS or GCP.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerBI and SQL DB.
  • Proficient knowledge of Azure Policies and Azure Functions implementation.
  • Ability to relocate to Cincinnati, OH and travel up to 10% internationally.

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate Certification (AZ-103) or Microsoft Azure Developer Associate Certification (AZ-204) or AWS Certified SysOps Administrator - Associate or AWS Certified Developer or equivalent.
  • Proficient Cloud cost management and FinOps knowledge, including but not limited to chargeback modeling, cost savings and avoidance tracking, trending and variance analysis and forecasting.
  • Cloud FinOps Certified Practioners Certification (FOCP).
  • Experienced in containerized environments, microservices, Terraform and serverless.
