POSITION SUMMARY
Working in a small squad with UX designers and lead engineers, you will drive the back-end development of primary components within the Cordial Platform. You will report to the Director of Engineering and work closely with our teams in europe. You will determine and implement the best approach for solving some key problems around messaging, analytics and data management. You will leverage a broad knowledge of available technologies from MongoDB to microservices and will assist in finding solutions that perform at scale. You will use php to efficiently move data and communicate with the front-end applications written in React and Backbone, as well as power the backend processes that analyze and act on data.

ABOUT YOU
- 5+ years of PHP experience, including Laravel
- Working knowledge of front-end/Javascript
- Ability to design and write highly robust and maintainable software with attention to detail
- Strong understanding of fundamental data structures and time/space complexity of algorithms
- Experience with programming in the Linux environment
- Good understanding of Internet protocols and programming in a networked environment
- Git for version control; and familiar with a Git workflow
- Hands on experience with MongoDB, Elasticsearch or Redis
- Has experience working in high volume, high load environments
- Has the desire and ability to solve complex problems
- Is able to self-manage, but can collaborate effectively
- Don’t feel comfortable committing code without tests
- Can create a small service with a modern PHP framework and deploy it with Docker pretty effortlessly
- Strong communication skills, and a desire to use them; Communication and collaboration are important to us
- Holds a passion for mentoring and growing more junior developers
