Description

We are excited to consider a remote engineer! Remote team members will be expected to work out of their home office.

Your Opportunity

As part of the New Relic AI solution, the Correlation team enables our customers to reduce noise and provide a better understanding of their alerts with ease and delight! We are looking for a phenomenal Backend Software Engineer, to join us in improving and building upon our correlation product. Help us deliver and scale an innovative approach to root cause analysis using AI and Machine Learning.

This role is perfect for someone who loves to work with large amounts of data. It is particularly well suited for an experienced engineer who wants to have a huge impact, share their experience, wouldn't mind broadening their skills to a wide range of technologies, has a desire and ability to apply team skills, and has a soft spot for all things AIOps.

What You'll Do

  • Design, develop, maintain highly visible features end to end
  • Solve sophisticated use cases that require close collaboration with product management, product design, and your tight-knit engineering team
  • Actively drive continuous engineering excellence

What working on this team is like:

We will work closely with product managers, technical support, and our design team to make sure we are building the right capabilities and features to help our customers understand and lead their digital business

We use agile practices to ship software incrementally with frequent customer feedback

There will be an on-call rotation with a focus on sustainability, and when issues arise, we will prioritize getting them fixed right away. We'll also be flexible about swapping weeks because we know life is what happens outside of work

Your Qualifications:

Must-haves:

  • 3+ years of production-level experience in Java or other related backend technology
  • Work independently on items to implement clean, consistent code solutions.
  • Flexible in figuring out how to achieve the business goals without compromising technical quality.
  • Comfortable digging into technical details and unblocking yourself and the team when needed.
  • Interested in dev-ops and not only like to build services but you are also invested in their operation by monitoring their performance, thinking about capacity planning, and quickly addressing incidents when they arise. In fact, an SRE background or experience would be a bonus, as well.
  • Highly collaborative and people have confidence in your ability to get things done.

Qualified applicants may inquire about visa sponsorship (including transfer of a current H-1B visa), but the company does not support or sponsor O-1, F-1, or J-1 visas, or candidates who require commencement of an H-1B "cap case" petition for future work authorization. This position is to be filled as soon as possible.

We're looking for bold and passionate people to be a part of our mission to create more perfect software. We'd love to have you apply, even if you don't feel you meet every single requirement. What's most important to us is finding authentic and accountable people who feel connected to our mission and values, not just candidates who check off all the boxes.

We believe in empowering all Relics to achieve professional, and business success through a workforce model called Flex First. The Flex First model allows us to work in a variety of workplaces that best support our success, including fully office-based, fully remote, or a combination of both.
