Boeing is looking for a Senior AvionX Product Safety Engineer located in Plano, Texas.
Position Responsibilities:

• Provides safety guidance and collaborates with product development teams to establish a robust safety management program for all AvionX products.
• Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to lead activities to plan, design, develop and verify complex lifecycle balanced system of system solutions.
• Leads others to evaluate customer/operational needs to define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters and assure compatibility of all physical, functional and program interfaces.
• Leads analyses to optimize total system of systems and/or system architecture.
• Leads analyses for affordability, safety, reliability, maintainability, testability, human systems integration, survivability, vulnerability, susceptibility, system security, regulatory, certification, product assurance and other specialties quality factors into a preferred configuration to ensure mission success.
• Leads, develops, maintains and identifies improvements for processes, templates and works with the Product Development teams for implementation and monitoring of product development processes, tools, risk, issues, opportunity management and technology readiness assessment related to system safety planning and reporting.
• Acts as the liaison with the Enterprise Safety Management Team and provides proper integration and coordination of company policies and procedures related to safety activities for AvionX products.

This position allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a "U.S. Person" as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. "U.S. Person" includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
• 2+ years of experience in systems safety engineering
• Experience with the system safety analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

• Experience defining and implementing software and hardware development processes regarding safety engineering
• Experience as a team lead

Typical Education/Experience:
Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+9 years' related work experience, Master+12 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
Relocation:
