Job Overview

As a Senior Automation System Engineer you will be an integral member of the AvidXchange Technology Services team, developing best-in-class advancements for our systems and infrastructure. This position is expected to act as a senior member within the team, contribute to system design, forecasting and trending, & system and infrastructure strategy.

Job Responsibilities

Development
• Help define and recommend automation frameworks and tools.
• Help define coding standards, testing, and deployment processes.
• Provides knowledge to development team on automation solutions.
• Responsibility for automation solution architecture and roadmap.
• Scope development efforts, splits projects into manageable pieces and estimates delivery of solutions.

Communication
• Share and gain support for roadmaps and plans with key stakeholders.
• Effectively manages multiple concurrent in-flight projects with varied deadlines.
• Maintains effectiveness in an agile environment.
• Adapts to changing circumstances, tasks, responsibilities, and personnel.

Teamwork and Professionalism
• Through example, set a high bar for productivity, inclusiveness, and professionalism.
• Mentors and shares information with team members as appropriate.

Technical Expertise
• Identify automation opportunities across the enterprise.
• Able to independently gather requirements from business stakeholders
• Effectively works with the team and other resources to acquire and leverage new data
• Applies principles of data analysis to connect outcomes with functions
• Expert level skills with databases, SQL, Python, c# and VBA.
• Understands the business strategy and key business performance indicators
• Applies design thinking techniques to help design solutions to complex business problems
• Thinks open mindedly and considers all alternatives

Innovation
• Productively challenge prevailing assumptions.
• Consider short-term, tactical alternatives that result in immediate business value.
• Identify options that provide long-term business value.
• Balance the need for experimentation and managed risk with the desire to maintain existing stable solutions.

Required Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
• 5-7+ years in engineering and/or intelligent automation role
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.

Preferred Experience, Qualifications, and Skills
• Typically requires a University Degree or equivalent experience and minimum 10 years of prior relevant experience
• Relevant certifications (BluePrism Dev/Engineer)
• System expertise across the majority supported technologies (ex. Azure)
• Analytic skills
• Expertise in automation, scripting or coding
• Comfortable working in a challenging and ambiguous environment
