Job Description Summary
This position is responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of two GE purpose-built web applications which drive data quality of transactions and reporting for Finance and other stakeholders. The role includes customer support in fielding user issues and technical application support in ensuring application and data availability and coordinating with other product support team members and oversight of third-party contractors to execute RCA and full resolution. This portfolio includes modern web-based applications and an engine that are critical to operational downstream systems for Payroll, travel and living accounting and other subledger and ERP transactions. Job Description

In this role, you will:
• Act as an IT web operations leader for multiple leading purpose built web-based applications built on Java/Springboot/Angular that drive valid master data management of financial transactions for GE Finance
• Engage frequently with the Enterprise Validation Engine and Atlas Employee Costing development teams; facilitate discussions, provide clarification, story acceptance and refinement
• Partner with development leaders to ensure proper testing of and preparation for released functionality in a stable manner and first time right
• Collaborate with a team of GE software engineers and third-party contractors to ensure stable operations
• Provide day to day application support to customer base and oversight offshore to team of third-party contractors in driving to problem root cause analysis and resolution actions
• Learn/leverage Lean principles in conducting Lean Daily Management and ensure focus on application quality and reducing defects to shift effort on customer value-add functionality
• Interact with stakeholders in VOC requirements-gathering, fine tuning, and driving UAT requirements
• Be available to quickly respond and resolve critical service outages severely impacting consumers
• Understand, promote and adhere to security and SOX compliance policies and process
• Understands basic master data management concepts
• Develop automated solutions to address potential problems before they result in a service interruption• Provide impact assessment and mitigation plan for changes going into the production environment• Develop availability measures that align with consumer experience to accurately assess the usability of crucial services• Analyze failure points in services to model risk level and resolution steps if failure occurs. Assist in driving architecture enhancements into system to mitigate potential failure points• Develop response plans to potential failure points and evaluate effectiveness during planned tests• Perform comprehensive operational health checks of the entire services to identify areas of concern and track activities to drive improvements at all levels of the architecture• Provide technical coaching and direction to more junior teammates

Minimum Qualifications:
• A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or "STEM" Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) with minimum years of experience 6 years OR a High School Diploma and 10+ years professional experience.
• Must be willing to travel ~7-10% to a regional office for quarterly meetings, Lean/workout meetings and as-required for training and role ramp-up.

Desired Characteristics
• Demonstrated experience scripting or developing software and services for the cloud Ruby, Python, Go, Java, Node.js, .NET, etc.• Experience driving uptime, availability and reliability while being proactive application lead
• Strong understanding of cloud computing, including security, usage scenarios, and infrastructure basics
• Experience with Agile project management tools (Aha, Azure DevOps, etc.)• Excellent knowledge of common operating systems (Unix/Linux, Windows)• Extensive knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP, SNMP, FTP, syslog, TFTP, etc.)• Experience managing version control systems such as Git
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple concurrent projects and priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environment with demonstrated ability to meet tight deadlines• Self-starter - requires minimal direction to accomplish goals and resourceful to learn and solve problems• Experience deploying and managing infrastructure on public clouds such as AWS or Azure (e.g. AKS)• Excellent knowledge of TCP/IP networking, and inter-networking technologies (routing/switching, proxy, firewall, load balancing etc.)• Enthusiastic to find ways to make customers successful• Ability to work well within small team focused on rapid delivery of results• Ability to deliver results in a rapidly changing dynamic environment
• Ability to work out of/travel to a regional office located in Van Buren-MI, Norwalk-CT, Cincinnati-OH or other US NE or Midwest or Bangalore,India based GE offices
