The Position

Senior API Engineer

 

What We Need

An experienced Senior API Engineer to work on a cross-functional team to solve real-world problems for healthcare providers around the country. Using your technical expertise, you will design, build, test, and improve the features that will enable our customers to effectively run their business and provide patient care. If you like solving tough problems, being part of a fun team, and are tenacious, we would like to hear from you.

 

Your Area of Focus

  • Design and maintain APIs & services
  • Work with developers across the organization to build new API features at large-scale
  • Improve API standards and services
  • Provide innovative technical solutions to complex business problems
  • Scope and estimate tasks
  • Proactively communicate dependencies, risks, and mitigations
  • Translate business requirements into software solutions
  • Lead engineering design reviews
  • Demonstrate thought leadership and ability to mentor others
  • Make recommendations and provide guidance to the Product team during research tasks and investigate solutions that benefit the customer
  • Contribute to testing platforms and development verifications
  • Investigates, troubleshoots, and resolves production-related issues

Your Professional Qualifications

  • 5+ years of software development experience
  • Professional experience developing distributed database-driven web-based applications with Java, Spring Boot, and other Spring technologies
  • Deep technical subject matter expertise in 3+ general areas of software development (for example server, database, security, etc.)
  • Experience developing and delivering core reusable platform technology to the hands of customers
  • Able to provide well-articulated and reasoned explanations for when and why to apply software design patterns
  • Proven ability to leverage skills, knowledge, and experience to match the right solution for the problem 
  • Proven experience in addressing technical challenges head-on with a well-defined plan
  • Expertise designing, developing, deploying and supporting RESTful APIs
  • Experience owning a large software sub-system through requirements, design, implementation release, and support
  • Experience with GCP, AWS, API Gateways and Google Apigee is a plus
