As our global footprint continues to spread across the world, we are looking for a Security Engineer to support the further growth of our Common Criteria team in the CyberSecurity Assurance department.

As a Security Engineer at UL, you will perform an evaluation of security products. This may include consulting in the development of a product's security design, authoring security documentation, evaluating product designs, and testing products. With a wide range of product technologies, you will gain exposure to detailed design information, interaction with international product development teams, and in-depth technical assessment.

What you'll learn & achieve:

  • Security analysis
  • Product evaluations against the Common Criteria standard
  • Security documentation authoring
  • Cryptographic and Public Key Infrastructure testing
  • Device specific operational testing
  • Presentations and workshops with customers
  • Maintain/improve technical knowledge
  • Learn and use various IT tools used in performing security evaluations



What makes you a great fit:

  • University Degree (Equivalent to a Bachelor's degree), preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Software, Security or a technically related discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate technically both verbally and in writing
  • Able to quickly learn and adapt to various technical environments
  • Knowledge of computing systems, designs and security principles
  • Experience setting up networks and familiarity with subnets and routing.
  • Knowledge of common security related protocols and their design (i.e. ssh, IPsec, TLS, etc.)


Nice to Haves:

  • Software development experience
  • Knowledge of cryptographic algorithms
  • Knowledge of Common Criteria
  • Vulnerability Analysis and/or penetration testing experience/expertise
  • Security certifications (CISSP, CCNA, etc.)
  • Knowledge of IT systems, protocols, VMs, Operating Systems, etc.
  • Experience using oscilloscope, logic analyzer, protocol sniffers, etc.
