Cloud Application Security Architect

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Cloud Application Security Architect is responsible for developing and implementing application security architectures, controls, and AWS best practices. This role would be engaging with application teams to identify security vulnerabilities, monitor application security risks, and design remediation plans which may include refactoring or migration of application stack to AWS.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Design and implement cloud application security controls, tools, and standards
• Manage the application security tools and processes, such as DAST, SAST, IAST, WAF
• Provide cloud security expertise to application teams and collaborate with other teams like infrastructure, cloud, security engineering, and compliance
• Conduct security assessments on applications and projects
• Design security remediation plans and work with application teams to implement them

POSITION QUALIFICATIONS:

Education Required: Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Management Information Systems, or equivalent experience. Security related certification (e.g., CISSP, CCSP) a plus

Years of Job-Related Experience Required: 5-7 years of experience in application (not infrastructure) security

Technical/Other Skills Required:

• Deep understanding of AWS security and cloud technology application
• Familiarity with AWS and third-party security products and technologies
• Proven project planning and management experience
• Superior listening skills and ability to translate verbal descriptions into written content
• Strong interpersonal, consultative, consensus builder, and issue resolution skills
• Able to communicate project status to various levels of management in both technical and non-technical terms
• Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
• Ability to remain neutral toward technology, vendor and product choices, as well as to be more interested in results than in personal preferences
• Proven verbal and written communication skills

The salary range for this role is $106,000 - $151,500. Final pay rate shall be determined and is based on experience and qualifications.
