Your Role and Responsibilities

The Weather Company, an IBM Business, is seeking a Security Architect to focus on the design of business-driven Information Technology solutions to meet security requirements related to function, protection, assurance, risk management and compliance.

The scope of work includes:
(1) the collection and validation of requirements
(2) the identification of risks, threats, vulnerabilities, potential anomalous flows and interactions
(3) the definition of the security processes for assurance, management and compliance
(4) the definition of security subsystems
(5) the design of integration and deployment architectures for security in Networks, Infrastructure, Middleware, Applications and Systems & Service Management systems.

Depending on the area of work, the Security Architect may perform evaluation and selection of the components, design of hardware, software, process and service components of the solution, assurance of deployment architectures, and guide secure engineering practices in development.
• Use Security Frameworks in Creation of Solutions• Use Security Techniques in Architecture & Design• Architect Security Subsystems• Lead Secure Engineering Practices• Advise on Info Technologies & Security Techniques• Apply Security Engineering Concepts & Principles• Apply IT Security Engineering Risk Mgmt Methodologies & Tools• Apply IBM Security Portfolio & Experience• Develop Security Engineering Requirements & Architectural Decisions

Required Technical and Professional Expertise• 5 or more years of related experience in the following:
o Security architecture, demonstrating solutions delivery, principles and emerging technologies - Designing and implementing security solutions. This includes continuous monitoring and making improvements to those solutions, working with an information security team.
o Consulting and engineering in the development and design of security best practices and implementation of solid security principles across the organization, to meet business goals along with customer and regulatory requirements.
o Security considerations of cloud computing: They include data breaches, broken authentication, hacking, account hijacking, malicious insiders, third parties, APTs, data loss and DoS attacks.
o Identity and access management (IAM) - the framework of security policies and technologies that limit and track the access of those in an organization to sensitive technology resources.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise• Strong Linux experience (RedHat, CentOS, Ubuntu)• Experience with Puppet / Chef or other Configuration provisioning tool• Solid understanding of IBM Cloud/Softlayer, Amazon web services or other cloud providers and prior experience in designing and building infrastructure components on cloud environment• Good working knowledge with scripting languages such as Python, Ruby or Bash• Experience with building and deploying applications and release management• Highly proficient and demonstrated - advanced technical level software design, debugging, documentation, and testing skills, requiring application of extensive technical knowledge and skills at the subject matter expert level necessary to complete and document projects
