As part of our Solution Delivery function, we are looking for a Scrum Master/Release Train Engineer to join our team. Or better yet, a "Master of Scrum" ... One who, following Agile methodology and practices, brings out the very best in our software engineering teams. One who, on a daily basis, strikes the right balance between delivery, coaching, and transformation. And, perhaps most importantly, one who both leads as well as serves.
You'll enjoy the flexibility to telecommute* from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.
Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple engineering teams on a day-to-day basis to design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and continuously improve software
  • Partner with business leadership to manage user stories and project commitments in an Agile framework to rapidly deliver value to our customers
  • Mentor the engineering team to develop and perform as highly as possible
  • Support the engineering team's release management processes and functions
  • Own the team's development methodology and drive modern solutions to complex problems
  • Responsible for cross application management in complex projects
  • Responsible for acting as Release Train Engineer
  • Own the project you are leading

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master and/or Project Manager
  • 5+ years of experience with one or more of the following methodologies: Scrum, Kanban, Lean or SAFE
  • 5+ years of working with software engineering and familiarity with processes: design patterns, algorithms, data structures, schemas and queries, system design, unit testing, code reviews, agile, and dev-ops
  • 5+ years of experience holding responsibilities for communicating updates to both technical and non-technical audiences


Preferred Qualifcations:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience working with Rally Software (formerly CA Agile Central) or equivalent Agile delivery management tool(s)
  • Experience working within UHC, Optum, and/or the healthcare or financial services industries

Colorado Residents Only: The salary range for Colorado residents is $82,100 to $146,900. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
