Duration: 6 Months, Contract to Hire

Location: Buffalo, NY

Job Title: SCCM & InTune Engineer

Work Hours: Monday-Friday

CTG is seeking experienced SCCM & InTune Engineers to support one of our premier healthcare client.

Will be responsible for:

  • Providing design, deployment, configuration and support of desktop technologies in a distributed environment
  • Software distribution and patch management as well as building and deploying software packages to workstations
  • Administration support for software package development and configuration management, as well as will research and evaluate software and hardware technologies
  • Act as the SCCM & InTune Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the client organization
  • Participate as SCCM & InTune SME in organizational projects and operational tasks; including Windows 10 servicing upgrades & migrations.


Qualified candidates must have:

  • Expert working knowledge and hands-on experience with SCCM Current Branch
  • Extensive hands-on experience automating SCCM processes through scripting using PowerShell.
    • SCCM Application package creation, distribution, and deployment through SCCM using the console as well as through PowerShell Scripting
  • Thorough understanding of Active Directory; including replication, GPO, DNS; to support both project and operational tasks.

  • Experience building standardized desktop images suitable for automated deployment on disparate hardware platforms using an enterprise systems management platform.
  • Desktop support experience and excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP, VPN, IPSec, and thin/thick/web application architectures.
  • Working knowledge of current Microsoft SQL Server and Windows 2012 / 2016+ Server
  • Experience with ANY of the following InTune Co-management workloads:
    • Compliance Policies
    • BitLocker Management
    • Windows Update Policies
    • Resource access policies
    • Endpoint Protection
    • Device Configuration
    • Office click-to-run apps
    • Client Apps


Required Skills:

  • Expert working knowledge and hands-on experience with SCCM Current Branch.
  • Writing and maintaining procedural and design documentation and reporting.
  • Analyze, optimize, and integrate applications and services with SCCM.
  • Extensive hands-on experience automating SCCM processes through scripting using PowerShell.
  • Thorough understanding of Active Directory; including replication, GPO, DNS; to support both project and operational tasks.
  • Addressing security vulnerabilities through comprehensive patch management.
  • SCCM Application package creation, distribution, and deployment through SCCM using the console as well as through PowerShell Scripting.
  • Verifying statuses of software install, updates, and upgrades this includes
  • Verifying old versions of software are removed
  • Installation completed successfully
  • Working with third party vendors to troubleshoot issues
  • Desktop OS image preparation - Must be highly experienced in building standardized desktop images suitable for automated deployment on disparate hardware platforms using an enterprise systems management platform. Tasks will include OS build, driver package preparation, deployment preparation, QC, and documentation.
  • Windows 10 Image and/or Deployment Knowledge - Strong knowledge of Windows 10 operating system, deployment practices, and new capabilities supporting provisioning, patching, and overall management of Win 10 devices.
  • Desktop support experience - Highly skilled troubleshooting OS level stability and performance issues on desktop/laptop equipment. Must be process driven and requires diligent use of ticketing and documentation systems and processes in performing tasks.
  • Automated Software Package Deployment - Experience in preparing standard software suites (Microsoft Office, Adobe Reader, etc.) for automated deployment using Microsoft SCCM. Tasks will include customization of files, building of configuration scripts, deployment testing, and package documentation.
  • Ability to build out and maintain Windows servicing In SCCM & InTune for Windows 10 OS upgrades
  • Troubleshoot Windows 10 servicing upgrades within SCCM & InTune and Windows.
  • Understand Group Policy Objects (GPO), Local Policy Objects (LPO) and their impact on system configuration.
  • Fundamental understanding of security components & technologies such as firewalls and anti-virus policies.
  • Knowledge and use of the Windows Preboot Environment and (PXE) Boot.
  • Windows 10 technical support experience with advanced knowledge of the Windows registry, file and folder security, local/domain user security, and operating system troubleshooting
  • Windows Server Active Directory technical support experience with knowledge of OU structures, AD security, local and group policy, and various scripting languages
  • Applicant must have excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
  • Working knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, WINS, DHCP, VPN, IPSec, and thin/thick/web application architectures.
  • Working knowledge of current Microsoft SQL Server and Windows 2012 / 2016+ Server
  • Ability to troubleshoot Windows updates both in SCCM & InTune.
  • Troubleshooting Hybrid Azure AD Joined workstations
  • Be goal oriented and drive to milestone dates while working independently or as part of the SCCM & InTune team.
  • Experience with ANY of the following InTune Co-management workloads:
    • Compliance Policies
    • BitLocker Management
    • Windows Update Policies
    • Resource access policies
    • Endpoint Protection
    • Device Configuration
    • Office click-to-run apps
    • Client Apps
