The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team.

Raytheon Technologies has an opening for an SAP ABAP Developer (Sr. Manager, Business Systems and Transformation). This Developer will design, code, unit test, debug, and implement SAP ABAP applications and deliver innovative, high-quality solutions to customers.

The SAP ABAP Developer should have strong application development and systems integration experience; adhere to Raytheon development standards and methodologies and be capable of performing code reviews with peers and be able to recognize good programming techniques and correct coding problems. This position will work as part of the SAP Development Team.

Job Functions / Responsibilities
  • Partner with functional teams to review functional specifications and produce technical design specifications
  • Provide level of effort estimates based on functional specifications or business requirements
  • Design, code, unit test, debug and implement SAP ABAP applications while working closely with functional teams
  • Resolve open development issues and make decisions about alternate technical approaches
  • Proactively provide work status
  • Follow development standards and methodology
  • Ensure that documentation is properly maintained
  • Support the change control process
  • Conduct code reviews with peers
  • Support application upgrades
  • Work Defects
  • Develop test plans for new or modified programs
  • Test, debug, implement, and document fixes
  • Perform issue resolution and root cause analysis
  • Provide advanced problem solving and technical support, including on-call critical support

Required Skills:

Typically a minimum of 10+ years SAP experience (in and around SD, MM, PP, QM, PM, FI and core capabilities like OO ABAP, ALE/EDI, WF, WebDynpro ABAP) and a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related experience and schooling in lieu of degree. Advanced degree and 7+ years related work experience.
  • Experience in SAP workflow framework and custom development
  • Demonstrated soft skills required for the presentation of ideas and concepts to stakeholders such as vendors, end users and senior management.
  • Strong understanding and implementation experience using the scaled agile framework (SAFe) methodology
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, customer support environment and with all levels of the organization
  • Working knowledge of the OSS process
  • Working knowledge of the ABAP development process
  • Good understanding of performance tuning and dialog programming
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of programs
  • Experience extending SAP standard functionality using ABAP Objects and other modern SAP technologies.
  • Working knowledge of SAP DIMP primarily in an Aerospace and Defense setting
  • Experience documenting As-Is and To-Be processes
  • Available to support off-shift system support
  • US Citizenship

Desired Skills:
  • Experience at an SAP A&D company
  • Experience with Raytheon's current Supplier processes
  • Experience with Raytheon's PRISM system
  • Experience working with current Raytheon Enterprise Services Business System Experts (BSEs) and other software developers
  • Knowledge or skills related to User Experience (UX)
  • Experience delivering ECC and DT solutions outside of the United States
  • Raytheon CORE certification

Required Education:

Typically a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline or equivalent combination of required skills and schooling in lieu of degree
