SAP ABAP and Fiori Systems Developer
Description
This is a Hybrid position within our IT Organization. The role will allow employees to work offsite but will also require onsite work based on business needs. The selected candidate will be expected to commute to the innovation center to which they are assigned as their primary GM facility. Relocation may be provided.
For all external applicants, we are targeting a start date on or after January 10th 2022 for this position.
The Global Purchasing and Supply Chain IT team provides the technology innovation behind one of the world's largest digital supply chains, with a network of 182 plants, 650 logistics service providers and 3,100 suppliers to build 9 million vehicles and deliver to over 15,000 dealers worldwide. IT integrates the enterprise to make this happen. Our industry-leading team of analysts, developers, engineers, and architects develop, test, and deploy the technology that drives GM.
GM Global Purchasing and Supply Chain IT is looking for a highly engaged, dynamic and experienced systems developer that can think outside of the box to design, develop, test and deploy innovative solutions aligned with SAP best practices and rapidly evolving technology. As Supply Chain IT establishes a new footprint cemented on SAP, a developer in this area will have the opportunity to work with best-in-class SAP development practices, bringing fresh ideas and knowledge to collaborate with a skilled group of SAP practitioners.
You must have proven experience/skills in the following:
- Critical thinking ability
- Strong problem-solving capacity
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Full lifecycle application development using standard design patterns and frameworks (design, development, testing and implementation of development objects supporting the SAP solution)
- Continuous integration and continuous deployment processes and tools (DevOps)
- Performance tuning, usability assessment and improvement
- Proactive identification and remediation of software issues such as code quality, pattern mismatch, and security issues related to the solution code or configuration
- Integration of software solutions within company environments and external landscapes
- Knowledge of software testing, quality assurance and solution testing including automation
- Knowledge of maintaining and debugging live software applications
- Compliance with GM standards and industry standard methodology
- Understanding of security, efficient code reuse, and software design
- Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and personal development
- Ability to work on large scale global implementations as well as smaller, faster innovative challenges

Additional Description
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business Computing or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of working experience is required (at least 10 years of experience is preferred)
- Experience and expert knowledge with programming in SAP ABAP on S/4 HANA, AMDP, ODATA, CDS Views
- Experience and expert knowledge with SAP Fiori and SAPUI5 framework
- Proven working experience with Business Object Processing Framework (BOPF), Object oriented programming (OOPs), Workflow, and BRF+ , ATC, ABAP Unit Test, S/4 HANA extension techniques, and forms and output management
- Should have worked with multiple integration techniques like Rest API, ABAP Proxy, RFC, IDOC & XML
- Knowledge of relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL)
- Knowledge of Test Driven development, Embedded Analytics & DevOps
- Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as well as software development methodologies (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Iterative, Waterfall, etc.)
- Business process experience including Order Management, Supply Chain, Production planning and Manufacturing execution, Logistics, Warehouse management and Finance.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Development experience with Java, JAVASCRIPT, HTML, CSS, and other languages
- Experience with CI/CD processes and tools (e.g., PCF, Azure DevOps)
