Ruby Developer
About the Job:
As a member of Capco's Enterprise Applications team, you will work alongside developers and operations in designing, developing, operating, and scaling Capco's internal applications, with a focus on improving the reliability, scale and visibility into core systems. The applications and infrastructure developed by this team manage many core business processes, and demand high-availability and fault-tolerance across a variety of systems.
As the Enterprise Applications team is currently small, the scope of work entails a wide breadth of development and implementation of business-critical applications across our global organization. Responsibilities will include (but may not be limited to) deploying cloud (AWS) infrastructure, peer-reviewing code, and adhering to our internal and independent compliance processes in a relatively heavily-regulated (FinTech) industry.
What You’ll Get to Do:
- Build and manage enterprise web applications and infrastructure
- Design & implement core applications and microservices
- Maintain high quality and security standards in peer-reviews
- Employ industry best practices in unit and integration testing
- Assess/Troubleshoot/Maintain performance and scalability
- Exhibit intermediate proficiency with performance-conscious database design
- Proactively participate in upskilling our more junior development team
What You’ll Bring with You:
- 6+ years of experience as a full-stack engineer with devops experience
- 3+ years of development experience with Ruby, Rails, Javascript and PostgreSQL
- Experience with Terraform (or similar IaC Solution), Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience with HTML/CSS/SASS
- A strong attention to detail for UI / UX design and consistency
- Experience with modern front-end JS frameworks and SPAs
- Strong experience with Linux System Administration
- Develop, review and modify CI/CD principles
- Experience working in an AWS environment
Preferred Skills:
- Knowledge of SOC2/ISO27001 audit compliance
- Experience with Configuration management solutions like Consul/Zookeper or similar
- Experience with Vue.js or Vuetify
- Experience with Bash Scripting
- Hands on experience with Elasticsearch or similar tool
