Torch Technologies, Inc. is currently seeking a highly qualified Rotorcraft Design Performance Engineer for the Huntsville, AL area. The selected candidate should have the ability to manage complex technical projects and associated risks from concept development through fielding within a team environment; make sound technical and strategic decisions and trade-offs; coordinate the development of project plans and the resolution of issues across multiple impacted organizations; and effectively communicate at all levels of the government and contractor's organizations.
Job Requirements
The position provides management and oversight of rotorcraft system design with a primary focus on evaluation of predicted and measured rotorcraft flight performance and the design decisions and tradeoffs impacting that performance for the aircraft design.
Manage complex technical projects and associated risks from concept development through fielding within a team environment
Recommend courses of action based on technical maturity, cost, and schedule
Monitor OEM design progress to facilitate successful implementation and certification of the aircraft's flight control systems.
Generate contracts requirements packages and acquisition program milestone documentation
Brief senior management on status and progress of each assigned project on a regular basis
Education, Experience, and Technical Knowledge:
Must possess a minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering but an advanced degree is preferred. In lieu of an advanced degree experience in aeronautical engineering is acceptable. Minimum of 15 years of experience in the design and qualification of rotorcraft systems.
The candidate must have experience in rotorcraft performance and flight planning; the principles of rotorcraft design and performance evaluation; Systems Engineering principles and tools; and Test and Evaluation methods and strategies.
Must be able to commit to job related travel ≥ 25%
Must hold or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret level security clearance
