Job Summary
The Aerospace Corporation is seeking a retiree casual SAP ABAP Developer (Finance & Supply Chain) experienced in SAP ECC development and enterprise-wide business process analysis and design.
The Finance & Supply Chain Systems Department is part of Aerospace's IT organization, Enterprise Information Services (EIS). Its primary responsibility is to develop and maintain the systems that support the Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Cost Management, and Budget to Report business processes. The Finance & Supply Chain Department works closely with the Office of the CFO to define evolving system needs and to develop strategies to meet business objectives. The business processes referenced above primarily run on SAP software.
As a Finance & Supply Chain Systems Solution Developer, you'll evaluate and interpret the top priority system needs of the Office of the CFO and other internal customers, translating those into clear technical requirements, comprehensive system and process designs, and timely, high quality technical solutions.

As a Finance & Supply Chain Systems Solution Developer, you'll evaluate and interpret the top priority system needs of the Office of the CFO and other internal customers, translating those into clear technical requirements, comprehensive system and process designs, and timely, high quality technical solutions.
What You'll Be Doing
- Eliciting, analyzing, and clarifying business requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in support of the Office of the CFO and other internal customers.
- Estimating, planning, and delivering work as a member of an agile development team.
- Incorporating frequent feedback from customers and stakeholders into solutions during development.
- Designing, developing, testing, and demonstrating SAP ABAP programs/technical solutions including enhancements, interfaces, reports, forms, conversions, and workflows in close coordination with the Financial Systems product owner and functional analysts, BASIS and security specialists, and other EIS teams as needed.
- Troubleshooting and resolving technical and functional business systems issues.
- Participating in test planning and execution, deployment, and maintenance of the developed solutions.
- Producing high quality written deliverables including design documents, data models, workflow/data flow diagrams, test scenarios/scripts, and production cutover steps.
- Continuously developing a thorough understanding of Aerospace's Finance and Supply Chain business processes, system landscape, and IT standards to provide sound recommendations and tailored solutions.
- Assisting and training business system users on maximizing process efficiency, getting the most out of automated solutions, and leveraging SAP reporting capabilities.
What You Need to be Successful
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited program
- Ten or more years hands-on SAP ECC ABAP development experience including object-oriented programs
- Working knowledge of SAP user exits and enhancements
- Familiarity with of Procure to Pay, Order to Cash, Cost Management, and Budget to Report business processes
- Functional knowledge in SAP ECC Financial Accounting and Controlling (FICO), Sales and Distribution (SD) or Material Management (MM) modules
- Demonstrated skills in design and documentation of functional/technical solutions with well-defined test plans
- Experience in eliciting, analyzing, and challenging business solution requirements/user stories
- Comfortable presenting regular solution demonstrations to product owners, business users, and agile team to solicit feedback
- Willing to travel domestically as needed, approximately 5%
- Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, issued by the US government. U.S citizenship is required to obtain a security clearance.
How You Can Stand Out
It would be impressive if you have one or more of these:
- Proficiency with tools to improve SAP user experience (e.g., Fiori, SAP Personas, SAPUI5, Java Script)
- Direct experience participating on Agile/Scrum system development teams
- Proficient with Jira or similar agile software development tools
- Experience with other ERP systems in addition to SAP ECC (e.g., HANA, Workday, Oracle, etc.)
