Why Is This Role Critical?
The Release Manager (RM) role will own the Release Management lifecycle which includes scheduling, coordinating, and the management of releases across the enterprise for multiple application across various portfolios. This person will continually work with leadership towards making improvements in the release process.
What you will be accountable for...
*Communication - This role is centered in situational awareness and the ability to get the right information to the right people at the right time.
*Collaboration - Manage relationships and coordinate between different Agile teams, testing groups, and training teams involved in the overall product release cycle.
*Strategic Artifacts - Draft and maintain a release calendar for all known release cycles and dates across our product portfolio and environments.
*Tactical Execution - Manage risks, dependencies, and resolve issues that affect release scope, schedule, and quality.
*Facilitation - Evolve and run all critical product release ceremonies and reviews (e.g. - Release Readiness / UAT Feedback, Milestone Reviews, and Business Go/No-Go Reviews)
*Ownership of Delivery - When it's clear to release, you release. (e.g. - Produce Deployment, Run Books and Implementation, Negotiate, plan and manage all release activities)
*Continuous Improvement - Partner with all IT and Engineering leadership to continuously improve processes and communications around release management.
*Transparency - Ownership of metrics and reporting of release quality.
*Support build activities
- Undergraduate degree or equivalent experience.
*Bachelor's degree in MIS, Computer Science, Engineering or related field
*8-10 years of previous release and/or project management experience utilizing both traditional waterfall and agile project management principles.
*At least 2 years of prior program management experience
*10+ years of experience in software engineering roles including systems analysis or development
*PMP or CSM certification is required.
