IT Group Description:

The Fixed Income Investment Technology (FIIT) team develops proprietary software and provides analysis and support for third party applications. The goal of which is to enable the fixed income team to effectively manage portfolios, execute and settle trades. This includes developing software to:

  • Provide fundamental research and quantitative analysis
  • Enable portfolio managers to monitor their portfolios by allowing them to view their positions any way they choose
  • Allow the portfolio administrators to create orders, run compliance, and clear trades
  • Execute and book credit derivatives
  • Implement in-house Fixed Income quantitative research visions and models.

IT Job Description:

We are seeking a Nashville based Programmer/Analyst to join the RAP team in Fixed Income Technology.

Describe the role:

We are looking for a Programmer/Analyst to join our team. The team works closely with Portfolio Management, Quantitative & Fundamental Research, Trading and Operations. In this position you will responsible for helping the team define Trading Models and business requirements for the development team. You will work directly with traders to understand their needs, run trade cost analysis and work with trading team to build algos.

The role will involve working on a wide array of projects in the Fixed Income space from research through to trade execution. A focus of the role will involve the automation of trade execution, which will encompass NLP, machine learning and virtual assistants, as well the development of models. In the role you will be expected to develop solutions which focus on scalability and maintainability.

The position will give you the chance to take complete ownership of your projects and as such offers excellent learning and development opportunities.

Describe the applications and business or enterprise functions the role supports:

We support Fixed Income Trading, Portfolio management, Middle Office, Quantitative and Fundamental Research

The key job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
• Gathering business requirements from all project sponsors
• Designing / engineering models
• Research new technologies
• Work with BA and development team to define business requirements
• Supporting the QA team as they write test cases
• Facilitating User Acceptance Testing
• Analyzing and implementing new data models• Providing support for ad-hoc data and research requests from the investment team

The Fixed Income Tech team is highly aligned with our business stakeholders, as such this role provides extensive contact with the business and will allow you to acquire business knowledge across the spectrum of fixed income Portfolio Management and Fixed Income Quant Research teams. The role also provides exposure to the entire Software Development Life Cycle.

Job Qualifications (The ideal candidate should have the following):

The ideal candidate should have a background in computer science, Fixed Income Trading, and should have the following skillsets and experience:

Required

  • Knowledge and understanding of Fixed Income markets
  • Knowledge of trading algorithms
  • Strong problem solver and can work independently as well as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills



Qualifications, Experience, Education:

A bachelor or master's degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, or highly related fields

Skills:

  • Strong, effective communication skills (oral and written), combined with the ability to engage the business in substantive discussion and resolution of issues (e.g. methodology for calculation of analytics, etc.).
  • Equally strong analytical skills to map data elements between systems, develop transformation logic, and resolve issues with data integrity.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order to interface with multiple constituent groups with potentially conflicting priorities and perspectives; the ability to support the entire software development and implementation lifecycle; work on multiple streams simultaneously; and guide users through complex application launches.
  • Python experience a plus
