About this role
Hologram is looking for an engineering lead to found a forward-thinking QA team; someone with deep experience in testing and automation, a sixth sense for edge cases, and a love of teaching and learning. You will establish best practices and develop tooling to support high-quality, high-velocity software delivery, and will hire a team of specialists that embed with existing software teams to teach them how to anticipate problems and level up their ability to catch them quickly.
What you'll do:
- Speed up development by automating manual smoke testing of web and mobile UI
- Reduce regressions, including major visual regressions, introduced by code changes
- Spot corner cases
- Produce comprehensive testing plans
- Standardize, teach, and evangelize testing best practices to all technical teams
- Writing testing plans for feature releases
- Collaborate with Product to determine most important user stories/flows
- Recruit, hire, and retain a collaborative, high-leverage QA organization
Helpful skills and experience:
- 2 or more years experience in a Senior QA role at a fast-growing web technology company
- Experience automating manual QA processes with automated tests written in code and checked in to version control
- Record of collaborating closely with engineering squads
- Experience with browser automation frameworks like Selenium and Cypress
- Experience automating testing on mobile devices, testing data integration pipelines, machine learning models, internationalization, and for accessibility
- Team leadership experience

- Our CTO for a high-level discussion
All technical exercises are adapted from our previous production work. No brainteasers or whiteboards, ever.
