This role allows you to work from anywhere you choose across the U.S. (excluding U.S. territories), with the flexibility to work from the Seattle HQ office as often as you’d like. Please note that no matter where you are located, all employees should be available during our core working hours from 10 am to 4 pm PT Monday through Friday.

The QA Squad

The QA team at 98point6 ensures we release a quality product on our iOS, Android and Web platforms.  The team is responsible for the end-to-end process and the automation frameworks for our primary care platform on iOS, Android and Web solutions. The team collaborates with all Engineering squads to improve our platform and engineering team's test coverage, release tempo, internal testing tools and production environment quality. The team leads and partners with engineering managers, software engineers and product managers to ensure we deliver a complete, holistic experience to our customers.  

Your Role and Impact

As an engineering manager, you will be responsible for leading a team to deliver on company goals through their work on the product, collaborating with engineering and  product managers to identify and prioritize the work for the team, hiring and developing talent on the team and ensuring each member of the team grows both technically and professionally. Your role includes supporting the team to deliver on new product features and improvements, as well as driving efficiency, operational excellence and quality. This role includes scope to drive quality programs and contribute to our overall SDLC process in ways that provide high impact to the engineering organization and company while anticipating strategic and scaling-related challenges through thoughtful long-term planning.

Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality feature implementations with high-confidence delivery dates
  • Recruit, manage and develop a diverse group of engineers at all levels
  • Develop team members in alignment with their needs and goals
  • Prioritize your US-based and offshore engineering team’s work based on business and customer needs, operational debt, bugs and risk
  • Collaborate with product and engineering management to deliver product features
  • Identify technical and process inefficiencies and drive improvements with measurable impact on engineering team and technology organization
  • Participate in project retrospectives and outage retrospectives, identifying actions to address and prioritize with appropriate alacrity based on business and customer needs
  • Conduct performance reviews for members of your team
Qualifications
  • 5+ years experience in leading Quality Assurance teams or Engineering teams with a strong focus on quality
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure or Heroku
  • Knowledge in languages like Java, Groovy, Ruby or Python
  • Broad experience in multiple automation disciplines including performance, scalability, resilience, integration and functional testing
  • Experience leading a team to meet quality, reliability and security requirements for their work
  • Experience making and leading technical decisions
  • Proven success building a healthy team culture
  • Ability to work in a product-driven environment
  • Experience delivering for multiple stakeholders preferred
