Quality Assurance Engineer
Summary
Quality Engineers ensures the studio's success by partnering with Engineering and Product teams to develop detailed test plans and infrastructure which in turn help Engineers develop, test, debug and release software quickly.
Responsibilities

• Applies advanced and context-driven black and grey-box testing techniques to game SDK integration testing, web application testing, and systems application testing.
• Uses exploratory approaches with any test technique.
• Evaluates functionality correctly with or without explicit requirements.
• Evaluates the validity of functionality in addition to verifying implementation.
• Applies scripting or SQL to aid test case setup, test execution, and test results.
• Collaborates with SDETs and QA Engineer IV on what kinds of automated tests are needed.
• Collaborates with SDETs on automated test setup and execution
• If focused on software development skills, contributes to automated test creation.
• Writes clear bug reports that provide the necessary details for successful reproduction using concise and easy to understand language and structure.
• Includes compelling and relevant bug advocacy in all bug reports.

Qualifications

• Understanding of advanced testing techniques, including, but not limited to: logic, state- based, function, feature, domain testing, regression, scenario, and exploratory test techniques, etc...
• Ability to apply the 7 principles of context driven testing.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally, and in writing.
• Documents development environment setup learns new environment setup easily and can help teammates with setup.
• Researches and recommends new tools for use by the team to enhance testing.
• Basic to intermediate queries and/or Python scripts.
• Comfortable working with bash shell in Mac terminal and Linux servers.
• Understands the vulnerabilities of client-server systems through a working knowledge of the fundamental technologies.
• Understands the functional differences between various mobile build configurations and signing mechanics.
• Coaches QA Engineers I-II on test techniques and how to select techniques to meet test objectives using the context-driven approach.
• Advises and coaches team on technique selection based on test objectives and the context of the project.
• Coaches QA Engineer II on bug advocacy and reporting.
• Provides respectful and constructive communication feedback to teammates.
